Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field or advanced relevant technical knowledge.
No prior professional experience required; freshers are encouraged to apply. Experience working with refugees, displaced people, or in protection-related fields will be considered an advantage.
People who have sound knowledge in Chittagonian dialect and culture will get preference.
Good communications skills both verbal and written in English and Bengali.

Since 2017, IRC has supported Rohingya Refugees and Bangladeshi nationalities communities in Cox`s Bazar, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong with integrated services. The organization also addresses climate change impacts by building resilience and promoting economic recovery, education, and protection.
Purpose of the Role
Information is power and save life – to claim rights and entitlements and restore individuals’ dignity. Information is the key in any context, which is more essential in the emergency and refugee context.
Aligned with the IRC’s innovative Signpost program, the IRC in Bangladesh program will provide a holistic approach to address information needs in refugee camps and host communities. The two-way communication approach under Signpost is a useful information resource for people in need; it fosters more in-depth community engagement, more trust, and, most importantly, more utility for its users.

Key Responsibilities
Provide the necessary life-saving information towards the clients through information desk and household visit to create community awareness.
Reply to questions/queries received at the information hubs with the help of an offline platform (containing articles and service maps) and Communication with Communities guidelines.
Follow protocol to escalate any communication from vulnerable cases to Protection and other sectors.
Provide Feedback on (and translate noteworthy questions into English if required) and write an analysis (including responses to individual questions, trends in conversation, and information gaps) as per the guidance and reporting format.
Share opinions, Feedback, cultural awareness, contextual knowledge, and learning with the wider team on an ongoing basis and local level advocacy.
Collaborate with the Protection Officers, and frontline staff team to develop thorough, well-researched response and information services.
Analyze information gaps amongst communities (refugees & hosts) to feed into future content creation.
Keep up to date with all the new information that we put out on an ongoing basis and attend regular training as required.
Assist the team in Individual Protection Assistance (IPA) and emergency responses.
Prepare and support weekly and monthly field reports with Sr. Officer – Protection and support MEAL team.
