Job Context:

The ICT Assistant is responsible for providing technical ICT support to the NRC Offices.
∎ Contract period: 12 months
∎ Possible Contract Start Date: 01 January 2023
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
∎ Keep the IT system, equipment, and software functional all the time and do regular checks on them.
∎ Keep the assets list up to date and provide tags for the newly purchased assets.
∎ Do regular visits and check up on IT equipment at Various offices.
∎ Receive materials and supplies, store them in assigned locations, and distribute them according to NRC procedures
∎ Maintain records of all incoming and outgoing materials for the store
∎ Ensure availability of storage space and always maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the store
∎ Ensure the safety and security of materials
∎ Prepare periodic stock reports and assist in carrying out periodic inventory audits
∎ Immediately report losses, damages, or discrepancies
∎ Participate in the procurement processes of ICT equipment
∎ Ensure installation and maintenance of protection services (anti-viruses and firewalls) Plan network upgrades, expansions, and replacements
∎ Conduct training and share ICT issues with the users
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 1-year experience in ICT areas in a humanitarian/recovery context will be added value
∎ Good Communication and interpersonal skills
∎ Fluency in English & Bangla, both verbal and written
∎ Ability to keep up to date with modern ICT trends

∎ Business : An estimated 905,000 Rohingya refugees currently reside in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh, over 700,000 of whom fled extreme violence in Myanmar in late 2017. They reside in refugee camps, which are among the most congested camps in the world, with limited access to basic services, including adequate sanitation, healthcare, livelihoods and education.
The refugees have put an immense strain on the Bangladeshi`s living in Cox`s Bazar, however, despite the challenges, the Bangladeshi communities were the first to respond when the Rohingya arrived and generously continue to host the refugees, and many of the local communities are now also in need of support.
NRC has been present in Bangladesh since 2016, working through partnerships with local NGO`s. We have since scaled up our presence in Bangladesh, obtaining legal registration in November 2018, allowing us to better respond to the Rohingya influx. Alongside our partners, we provide assistance to refugees and local communities through Education programming and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) activities.
