Job Context:
∎ Work Location: At Dhaka Shishu Hospital/ Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital/ Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University with visits to FHI360 office.
∎ Reports to: HMB Advisor
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The HMB Technician will be responsible for storage, transportation and distribution of Expressed Breast Milk (EBM) from the Human Milk Bank (HMB). S/he will ensure that the due process of collection, storage and distribution of EBM is followed according to the standard operation procedures. Under the direction of the HMB Advisor, s/he will also act as the focal point at the designated project site for ensuring HMB activities as required by the project. Her/his responsibilities include but are not limited to-
∎
∎ Ensure collection of Expressed Breast Milk (EBM) from the donor mother
∎ Ensure all steps of collection and storage of EBM at the HMB
∎ Ensure that the milk remains free of contamination and sterile during storage and distribution and given to the neonate at his/her service centre
∎ Keep log of EBM requirement by the satellite centers and transmit it to the HMB at Matuwail
∎ Ensure close coordination and contact with the transporter of EBM
∎ Ensure storage of EBM at the satellite centers and distribution as per requirement of the recipient
∎ Maintain regular communication and linkage with the neonatology department
∎ Support HMB Advisor to coordinate among the project HMB sites
∎ Support HMB Advisor to develop SoP and communication material for HMB.
∎ Ensure day to day record keeping at the project site
∎ Support project management to identify, document and manage day to day operational challenges, immediately inform his/her supervisor for immediate decision making and adjustment in operational strategies
∎ Ensure implementation of GESI (Gender Equality and Social Inclusion) strategy in delivering project activities as well as establishing gender sensitive working environment
∎ Submit monthly and quarterly project reports/updates
∎ Input data into DHIS and support the M&E focal point

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience of working at Neonatology/Pediatrics department will be an added advantage
∎ Possesses sound interpersonal skills, ability to adapt with changing situations, and gender sensitive work environment
∎ Strong written and verbal communication skills in Bangla and English
∎ Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues
∎ Able to articulate and communicate with stakeholders in a clear, positive and concise manner
∎ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and spreadsheets
∎ A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in working at hospital setting preferably at the neonatology/ Pediatrics department
∎ Prior working experience with the government of Bangladesh will be an added advantage
∎ Able to effectively prioritizes activities, assess workload and plan for timely accomplishment
