Job Context:
∎ Contract period: 12 months
∎ Our Ideal Candidate:
∎ Our ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with knowledge HR in humanitarian organizations. This person is motivated to use their skills to advocate for those in need and has experience working in a humanitarian context.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ . Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
∎ Overseeing the HR function for NRC Bangladesh
∎ Promote and share ideas for improvement of the HR function
∎ Develop and implement HR administrative systems and procedures
∎ Manage recruitment of all national positions
∎ Ensure that staff are trained in NRC minimum standard trainings and inductions
∎ Ensure accuracy of national staff payroll
∎ Ensure reporting, documenting and payment of staff benefits, taxes etc.
∎ Management of HR team
∎ Introduce new initiatives to improve HR system. Implement new initiatives of tracking system for i.e. staff leave, etc
∎ Support line managers in HR procedures and processes

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years of experience from working as an HR Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context
∎ Excellent English & Bangla language skills, both written and verbal
∎ Oral proficiency in Chittagonian and/or Rohingya desirable.
∎ Good knowledge of governance and administrative structures in Bangladesh
∎ Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
∎ Strong inter-personal skills, working well both in teams and independently
∎ Excellent team management skills
∎ Able to work under pressure and good at timely decision making;
∎ Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft package).
∎ Good understanding of information management systems, tools and methodologies in a humanitarian setting

Salary:
∎ Competitive salary and allowances as per NRC`s salary scale, medical allowance, festival bonus, and annual leave

∎ Business : An estimated 905,000 Rohingya refugees currently reside in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh, over 700,000 of whom fled extreme violence in Myanmar in late 2017. They reside in refugee camps, which are among the most congested camps in the world, with limited access to basic services, including adequate sanitation, healthcare, livelihoods and education.
The refugees have put an immense strain on the Bangladeshi`s living in Cox`s Bazar, however, despite the challenges, the Bangladeshi communities were the first to respond when the Rohingya arrived and generously continue to host the refugees, and many of the local communities are now also in need of support.
NRC has been present in Bangladesh since 2016, working through partnerships with local NGO`s. We have since scaled up our presence in Bangladesh, obtaining legal registration in November 2018, allowing us to better respond to the Rohingya influx. Alongside our partners, we provide assistance to refugees and local communities through Education programming and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance (ICLA) activities.
