Job Context:
∎ Our Ideal Candidate: Our ideal candidate is a Health Safety and Security professional in Bangladesh who is motivated to use their skills to assist people in need. This person is responsible for ensuring overall health safety and security Bangladesh mission and enjoy to work in a challenging context.
∎ Contract period: 12 months

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure that the standard security incident reporting system (NRC Protect) is applied.
∎ Report and follow up all incidents and provide analysis of trends and risks.
∎ Under the guidance of the NRC AELA Regional HSS Advisor and NRC Bangladesh Country Director, AM to assist in and/or lead the security risk assessment of new areas of operations and conduct regular security risk assessments for all locations with NRC presence.
∎ Liaise and keep regular communication and dealings with UN agencies, NGOs and other external actors, government authorities such as; police, NSI, SB, DSB, DGFI, Military, health actors to gain security and health related information and support the access related matters.
∎ Participation on several external security management meetings, workshop and represent NRC over there based on delegation from CD and AM.
∎ Identify risk mitigation measures including costing and technical specifications.
∎ Provide security briefings to all visitors and new joined NRC staff.
∎ Take a central role in incident and crisis management situations.
∎ Assist in development and implementation of relevant security-related documents (security plans and SOPs, evacuation plans, contingency plans etc.) for all locations where NRC is operational, including all the security threats/risks and natural disaster preparedness plans.
∎ Provide regular security related training. Coordinate and liaise with other NGOs, UN agencies and authorities to exchange security information.
∎ Prepare regular security updates and reports and provide summarised security analyses for the Country Management Group (CMG) and Area Management Team (AMT) including projections and analyses related to important security, social, economic and political developments in Bangladesh or Regionally.
∎ Support the Area Manager on briefing staff on security related issues during NRC meetings, induction sessions and other relevant meetings.
∎ Ensure vehicle and staff movements are monitored according to procedures and that necessary safety and security equipment are available and in good condition.
∎ Ensure the area team has appropriate communications equipment according to risk assessment.
∎ Coordinate and support HR, Management on staff sickness and health issue related matters (COVID, any emergency health issues, any staff sickness and other incidents).
∎ Develop contextual analysis update for AM and CD on weekly/monthly basis or based on the need of the context.
∎ Support logistics on managing security guards and security related equipment maintenance and monitoring at the office spaces of area and country office.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a Security coordinator or equivalent in a humanitarian/recovery context.
∎ Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
∎ Documented results related to the position's responsibilities.
∎ Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla, both written and verbal.
∎ Valid driver's license.
∎ Experience in Ex-defense will be added as advantage.
∎ Knowledge of the context in Bangladesh
∎ Experience with start-up in a humanitarian context
