Educational Requirements:

∎ The Health Officer (Medical Doctor) will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Health Delegate in the ICRC`s Office in Cox`s Bazar.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Applies medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevent illness. Carry out outpatient consultations as per requested, prescribing the necessary treatment respecting the national and WHO protocols.
∎ Keeps the patient and/or his/her family informed about his/her illness and provide them with appropriate explanations about the treatment and the expected progression of the disease to follow.
∎ Decides whether the patient should be transferred to other health facilities and informing their family about the patient's evolution.
∎ Implements counselling and provision Clinical Care for Sexual Assault Survivors, Provision of basic first aid for domestic violence, treatment of STIs, Menstrual regulation, ANC and PNC,
∎ Delivers of hygiene promotion, health education and patient/caregiver counselling.
∎ Ensures adherence to infection prevention and control measures.
∎ Ensures accurate recording of information in the registers, and timely completion of summary reports.
∎ Check and control the rational distribution of medicines and equipment under his/her responsibility and disinfection and sterilization of the medical material. Assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards.
∎ Participates in the collection of epidemiological data, checking its validity and informing the health delegate about any challenge or complication of the patients' illness, medical error and monitors the proper functioning of the clinic's equipment or material.
∎ Knows and ensures all standard medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are followed at all times and reducing bio-hazard risks and improving infection control.
∎ Contributes to analysing the humanitarian, political and security environment to identify the additional health needs in the camps and regularly provisions oral/written reports on any related changes in the situation;
∎ Contributes to the definition, implementation, and monitoring of the broader health strategy in CXB, in coordination with the health delegate, health coordinator, and SD management;
∎ Helps to prepare, report on, and follow internal and external meetings per necessary

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years of clinical knowledge in Medicine, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Pediatrics at the Primary Health Care curative & preventive level as well as Emergency Preparedness and Response.
∎ Professional requirements:
∎ 3 to 5 years of work experience (including at least 2 years of clinical experience) in the humanitarian sector
∎ Good connections with the local health authorities or groups of interest for the ICRC
∎ Languages: Excellent fluency in spoken and written English & fluency in local language (Bangla, Chittagonian)
∎ Computer skills: Excellent and proven command of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
∎ Other skills: Evaluation, Analysis, and Results-Based Management.
∎ Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment.
