Job Context:
∎ Health Intern will work under the supervision of Senior Health Coordinator. The Intern will be assisting Coordinator for documenting and reporting, visit health facilities in camps and host communities. Share field visit experiences with health team with specific recommendations which can help to improve health facilities specially on SRH component. This internship is a great opportunity to gain professional experience in a multi-cultural, social service setting.
∎ Work Locations: IRC Cox’s Bazar office with occasional visit to Dhaka and Ukhiya office
∎ Duration: 4 Months
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Literature review on material relevant SRH component and produce a strategic brief focusing Rohingya Humanitarian Crisis.
∎ Produce one high quality policy brief focusing on SRH services in Rohingya crises (based on IRC’s programme evidence and client’s feedback) analyzing strengths (e.g. good practices and how to further promote them) and areas of improvement (e.g. key barriers and how to address them) and concrete recommendations.
∎ Support Heath and advocacy team to organize 1-2 round table to disseminate this policy brief with targeted audiences.
∎ Review IRC’s current training materials on SRH and revised as per current needs and provide training to develop master trainers on this issue.
∎ Support health team to develop proposal on SRH for respective donors.
∎ Visit IRC’s health facilities in camps and host communities and prepare a visit report.
∎ Produce an internship closing report and share with respective supervisors.
∎ Provide day to day support under the guidance of the supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Must be enrolled in an internship program through a college or university.
∎ Comfortable working with diverse populations and humanitarian crisis
∎ Previous experience working with vulnerable populations preferred, but not required.
∎ Experience working in social work/social services preferred, but not required.
