∎ This is a senior-level managerial role directing the operations of the Finance Department and serving as chief financial officer for Muslim Aid-UK Bangladesh Field Office and financial policy advisor to the Country Director. The Finance Manager will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of all aspects of finance including financial management, accurate financial reporting to stakeholders as well as financial and accounting support and advice.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Strategy:
∎ As a professional, assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and long-term strategy. Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the Country Director and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
∎ Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors).
∎ Oversee long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with organizational strategic plan, especially as the organization considers collaborations with external organizations.
∎ Financial and Operational Management:
∎ Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, regulatory requirements.
∎ Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
∎ Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
∎ Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.
∎ Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
∎ Provide clear, accurate, timely and user friendly (financial and non-financial) management information to the Country Director, senior management team and project staff
∎ Ensure appropriate records of income and expenditure are maintained and any financial returns required by donors are submitted in a timely manner in collaboration with relevant managers.
∎ Oversee continuous improvement of effective financial systems, including financial policies and procedures.
∎ Team Management:
∎ Mentor and develop a direct team of six or more (including Dhaka office and project staff), managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
∎ Guide larger, cross-divisional teams outside of direct span of control within programme areas.
∎ Leadership:
∎ To develop the programme finance based on the existing country strategy
∎ To oversee budget preparation, financial reporting and compliance for donors of all programmes at country level;
∎ To create a shared vision, among all staff, of the organisation's Finance aims and their role in achieving these.
∎ Travel:
∎ The Finance Manager may have to spend some of their time on monitoring visits to project areas in Bangladesh.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 35 years

∎ Proven experience of working within an INGO/NGO in a senior position
∎ Experience of financial and project accounting of Institutional donor funded projects
∎ Experience of coordinating organizational audits and obtaining audit clearance, including coordination with external auditors and government agencies
∎ Experience of developing and managing high performing finance teams
∎ Experience of implementing an effective cost recovery model that covers costs from a mixture of funds in a systematic and compliant manner
∎ Strong analytical skills and experience translating a strategic vision into an operational model.
∎ An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
∎ Professional proficiency in English
∎ Excellent leadership, interpersonal and team coordination skills
∎ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
∎ Aptitude in decision making and problem solving
∎ Highly effective organizational skills
∎ Computer skills including the ability to operate and manage computerized financial, payroll spreadsheet and word processing programs, and email at a highly proficient level

∎ Strong practical knowledge on the preparation of financial statements and financial reports

Salary: Tk. 122194 - 129526 (Monthly)
