Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supporting children with cancer and their families:
∎ Assessing needs of families/patients with cancer in collaboration with healthcare professionals to identify areas requiring assistance.
∎ Support patients/families adjust to hospital admission; possible role changes; exploring emotional/social responses to illness and treatment.
∎ Able to provide psychosocial support to patients and their families when needed.
∎ Using empathy, knowledge and experience to assess and alleviate the psychosocial suffering of patients and their families.
∎ Ability to work well with a diverse group of constituents; Awareness and understanding of issues of privilege, oppression, and marginalized communities.
∎ Day to Day visit in the hospitals and identifying the needs of extremely marginalized families who need supports to continue the treatment facilities.
∎ Reporting, finance and administration:
∎ Identify the potential story of success in treatment and documentation of that story for future fundraising activities.
∎ Collection and prepare documents of family/patient support in coordination with Finance Manager.
∎ Assist Country Programme Coordinator in documentation and reporting through providing field operational documents.
∎ Maintaining all the documents of project activities as per guidance from Country Programme Coordinator of World Child Cancer (WCC), UK.
∎ Prepare regular visit plan and monthly qualitative progress report of on-going activities.
∎ Working with other professionals:
∎ Organize and facilitate the workshops, training, meeting, awareness campaign etc. against childhood cancer with the concern stakeholders.
∎ Identify communications opportunities and strategies to raise awareness about childhood cancer with the concern stakeholders.
∎ Helping patients and families understand the illness and treatment options, as well as consequences of various treatments or treatment refusal.
∎ Build strong and effective working relationships with Partner Hospitals, civil society, and other Development Partners.
∎ Willingness to assume a range of unanticipated tasks and work flexible hours, including some weekends.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 24 to 34 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum of three years’ experience in working with health sectors
∎ Good knowledge and understanding of the public health systems and National Health Service strategy of Bangladesh
∎ Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and experience with developing working relations with government, civil society and other development partners
∎ Fluency in spoken and written English language is essential
∎ Ability to present information clearly to a range of people
∎ Proven ability to communicate sensitively and effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing
∎ Proven ability to manage complex or conflicting priorities in a pressured environment
∎ Proven ability to challenge where necessary
∎ Time management and organisational skills
∎ Person centred approach
∎ Ability to deal with stressful situations and offer appropriate support to others
∎ Understanding of data protection and the ability to maintain confidentiality
∎ Child-centred service user focus
∎ Desire to develop skills in this field
