Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
A Master’s degree/MBA is preferred.
Proven track record of 5+ years in a managerial role in export operations, preferably in the carpet, rugs, or handicraft export industry.
Technical Skills
In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and export documentation.
Proficiency in negotiating international contract terms and managing export logistics/supply chain.
Familiarity with compliance requirements related to child labor, safety standards, and chemical/dye restrictions (especially for European and US markets).
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP/Export Management software.
Key Responsibilities
The Export Manager is responsible for leading and managing all export operations and sales for the company's carpet and rug products to international markets.
Sales & Business Development: Develop and implement effective export sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets in target markets (e.g., USA, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia).
Client Management: Identify, acquire, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with international buyers, wholesalers, and retail chains.
Operations & Logistics: Oversee the entire export process, including order placement, production coordination, quality control, shipping, and delivery logistics.
Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all export documentation (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill, Certificate of Origin, RCMC, etc.) and processes strictly comply with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and country-specific tariffs.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends in carpet/rug designs, materials (e.g., sustainable materials, specific dyes), and pricing strategies.
Negotiation: Handle contract negotiations, pricing, and incoterms (FOB, CIF, etc.) with international clients and freight forwarders.
