Job Responsibilities:
∎ Environmental Management System (EMS):
∎ To prepare and preserve all necessary documents related to Higg Index.
∎ Identification of significant environmental aspects & impacts.
∎ Setting objectives and strategies for continual environmental performance improvement.
∎ Regular monitoring of water consumption in the factory premises.
∎ Chemical Management:
∎ Maintain Chemical Inventory sheets and update on regular basis.
∎ Follow RSL/MRSL and maintain strictly. Ensure original SDS and Labeling as per GHS
∎ standard, TDS, Guarantee Letter, and other certificates like SVHC (REACH), GOTS 6.0, OCS 2.0, ETAD Membership, Oeko-Tex 100 Standard, Bluesign, ZDHC RSL from suppliers.
∎ Ensure alternative chemicals assessment for environment-friendly chemicals.
∎ Report storing, analyzing, root cause analyzing, follow-up, monitoring to ensure sustainable chemical management.
∎ Evaluate chemical suppliers and conduct a supply chain development program.
∎ Conducting Internal Audit Program on periodic intervals to ensure sustainable chemical management.
∎ Providing regular training to chemical handling personnel on safe Chemical handling.
∎ Developing chemical flow diagram and eco- mapping to identify the critical zone.
∎ Identifying hazards, exposures, effects, and risks for each and every chemical and ensure a control approach.
∎ Ensure proper chemical storage, labeling, secondary containment, chemical compatibility, appropriate PPE, and safe use.
∎ Ensure the safety of all chemical processes and products in the company and also keep the premises free from all chemical toxicities.
∎ Ensure external health check-ups for all chemical handling personnel.
∎ Setting targets to reduce water use and implement strategies to reach the goal as per 3R policy.
∎ Regular monitoring of energy consumption, GHG emissions, and air emissions.
∎ Setting strategies to reduce energy consumption, GHG emissions.
∎ To conduct environmental impact assessment (EIA) and implement an environmental management plan (EMP).
∎ Evaluation, ensure, and monitoring of environmental regulations and permits required for operations.
∎ Liaison with DoE on regular basis to update environmental clearances of the factory.
∎ Periodically assess air emissions, noise level, and other environmental aspects.
∎ Maintain waste Inventory and manage the wastage as per national legislation and buyers Code of Conduct. Ensure proper segregation of all kinds of wastes according to hazards.
∎ Setting strategies and implement them to reduce wastes as per waste management hierarchy.
∎ Ensure proper storage, handling, disposal of wastes from factory premises as per legal, buyer and organization standards.
∎ ETP and Wastewater Management:
∎ Execute the operational system/process for Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
∎ Monitor and evaluate the environmental parameters (pH, DO, COD, BOD, EC, TSS, Temp. etc.) as per DoE standards and achieve ZDHC standards (Continual improvement from Foundational to Progressive and Aspirational)
∎ Monitoring and maintain all process control parameters (MLSS, MLVSS, SVI, F/M ratio, Total N 2 , Total P, Sludge Age, DO, pH etc.).
∎ The root causes analysis for any failure and ensure corrective action plan to stop recurrence.
∎ Proper management of produced sludge and ensure discharge of sludge as per regulation.
∎ Conduct training for skill development of ETP operators.
