Responsibilities & Context:
  • Install, configure, integrate, and maintain the Network Management Systems.

  • Ensure stable and reliable core, distribution and access network services (e.g. access products, service networks and core network).

  • Day-to-day network performance monitoring.

  • Network troubleshooting and fault analysis; hardware troubleshooting and repair.

  • Application of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes.

  • Installation of network hardware and software

  • Understanding the implementation of the following technologies: IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP); IP filtering and firewalling; Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS); Quality of Service; MPLS; Ethernet (STP, RSTP, .1q VLANs, QinQ).

  • Understanding of AAA platforms such as Radius and/or TACACS.

  • Fix hardware problems of computers and related devices.

  • Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.

  • Monitor and maintain and oversee the maintenance of the computer stations and software for the University and provide additional support for computer systems and networks.

  • Provide support including procedural documentation.

  • Supervise and maintain turnstile gate management. 

  • Maintain MIS, maintain server and PC backup across the network.

  • Configure and maintain a company network which includes LAN and WAN.

  • Install and maintain file server, active directory domain controller, and print serve.

  • Provide help-desk and on-site technical support related to the issue of hardware and software.

  • Update the inventory of all hardware and software. Maintain proper documentation and vendor management.

  • Maintain communication with all departments and sections for IT support.

  • Ensure and monitor network security using the corporate firewall and bandwidth management.

  • Website maintenance & backup management.

  • Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with identity management.

  • Ensure that the university has a fully serviceable and efficient IT infrastructure in line with the needs and international standards at any given time.

  • Ensure that data backups and IT Disaster Recovery plans are run in line with the highest levels of standards.

  • Oversee the administration of all WAN and set up when necessary.

  • Following all university regulations and health and safety policies.

  • Execute and report other tasks assigned by the management.
