∎ Position Summary - Purpose and Objectives of the Role:
∎ There are 2.7 billion people with poor vision resulting in lost productivity, road accidents and poor results in school. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the socio-economic impact of poor vision to the world economy is around $272 Billion. Most cases of poor vision can be treated with a pair of eyeglasses. The challenge is to convert these non-wearers into new spectacle wearers through scalable and sustainable business models that overcome the barriers of access and awareness. Enabling everyone throughout the world to enjoy good vision is the global public health issue at the heart of EssilorLuxottica`s mission. Our ambition is to eliminate poor vision from the world, by 2050.
∎ Are you passionate about creating social impact in a scalable manner through business development at the Base of the Pyramid? Does the idea of creating sustainable access points for the underserved community, developing strong business models & partnerships aiming to sustainably serve the base of the pyramid customers excite you?
∎ We are looking for a dynamic self-starter individual to (a) support and expand our business development work to increase access to good vision (b) to provide leadership to develop skilled youth(micro-entrepreneurs) in the field of vision care and inculcate a strong sense of business ownership among those skilled youth (c) manage, strengthen & create new partnerships with Hospitals, NGOs and other such organisations.
∎ Individuals must be excellent at working under pressure, adept at leading a team, have strong negotiation skills, focusing on the details while being able to undertake big picture challenges.
