Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Process invoices from vendors and suppliers, verify accuracy and validity of invoices, and prepare payments for approval.
∎ Maintain records of payments and vendor accounts.
∎ Prepare financial reports for management, trustees, and other stakeholders.
∎ Generate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to provide insights into the school's financial health.
∎ Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
∎ Provide documentation, support auditors during audit procedures, and address audit findings.
∎ Assist in managing grants, donations, and other sources of funding for the school.
∎ Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting obligations.
∎ Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
∎ Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
∎ Prepare and file tax returns for the school, including income tax, sales tax, and other applicable taxes.
∎ Stay updated on tax laws and regulations affecting the school.
∎ Utilize accounting software and financial management systems to record, analyze, and report financial data accurately.
∎ Provide training and support to staff as needed.
