∎ RDRS is a leading national development organisation in Bangladesh working for the poor and underprivileged communities across the country with focus on north-west Bangladesh. Established in 1972 as the field programme of Lutheran World Federation, Geneva, RDRS became a national development organisation in 1997 under the Trust Act. RDRS provides development services to over 3 million households in 32 districts through its four broad programmes - civil empowerment, quality of life, food security & environment, and economic empowerment & opportunity.
∎ Currently RDRS Bangladesh is inviting applications to fill the position of Environment & Disaster Officer for its Comprehensive Development Programme supported by ELCA.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Major responsibilities of Environment & Disaster Officer are as follows:
∎ Field level implementation of project activities;
∎ Support to conduct risk assessment tools in Communities and facilitate to develop Community Action Plan;
∎ Provide technical assistance to the implementation of DRR and CCA,
∎ Regular visit all types of field activities like VDMC meeting , training, semi structured or non structured activity, awareness activities, site selection for plantation, Liaison, organize meeting, workshop, seminar, field day when necessary;
∎ Conduct meeting ,workshop and seminar.
∎ Conduct training on different agricultural and climate change and DRR related programs;
∎ Work with Climate and Disaster victims of remote and chars area people,
∎ Prepare budget and check the variance of the expenditure for implementing project in right tracks;
∎ Maintain liaison with local level GO, NGO and private sector, prepare periodic monthly report on DRR and CCA activity its operation.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Ability to work independently and in a team;
∎ Excellent skills in generating reports;
∎ Liaison capacity with different donors and GO/ NGO;
∎ Excellent computer skills (MS word, Excel, Power Point);
∎ Good interpersonal communication skill and command over English and Bangla - both spoken and written;
∎ Valid Motor Cycle Driving License is mandatory for this position;
∎ Willing to travel extensively within the RDRS operational area and beyond.
Salary: Tk. 32000 (Monthly)
