Degree Requirements:·      

  • Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration, or a related discipline from a recognized university. CA (CC) will get preference.

  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree may be considered if they possess substantial relevant experience in finance and administration.·      

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in finance and administration, preferably with NGOs/INGOs.·      

  • Experience working with donor-funded projects (UNHCR, EU, etc.) will be considered an advantage. 

Mandatory Requirements·      

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial documentation, and budget monitoring.·      

  • Experience in office administration, procurement, logistics, and asset management.·      

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel.·      

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare financial and administrative reports.·      

  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.·      

  • Flexible to travel and work in both Ukhiya and Teknaf areas.     



Responsibilities & Context:

Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites applications for the position of Education Officer for Ukhiya and Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.

Position Title: Accounts & Admin Officer

Duration: 01 July 2026 to 31 December 2026 

Programme Overview

The Accounts & Admin Officer will support the effective implementation of the Language, Images and Analytical Thinking (LIT) Project of CODEC by ensuring sound financial management, efficient administration, procurement, logistics, and compliance with organizational and donor requirements. Working closely with the Project Coordinator and relevant support units, the incumbent will contribute to the smooth operation of project activities and maintain robust financial and administrative systems to facilitate quality programme delivery.

 

Key Areas of Performance / Responsibility / Accountability

Financial Management & Accounting

·       Maintain accurate financial records, vouchers, and supporting documentation.

·       Process payments, reimbursements, and financial transactions in accordance with CODEC procedures.

·       Maintain cashbooks, ledgers, and financial filing systems.

·       Support monthly budget tracking and expenditure reconciliation.

Budget Monitoring & Reporting

·       Assist in monitoring project expenditures against approved budgets.

·       Support the preparation of financial reports for internal use and donor reporting requirements.

·       Identify and report budget variances and support corrective actions.

·       Ensure timely submission of financial documents to the Finance Department.

Administrative Management

·       Manage day-to-day administrative functions of the project office.

·       Maintain office records, correspondence, and filing systems.

·       Support office setup, maintenance, and operational efficiency.

·       Organize meetings, workshops, and training logistics.

Procurement & Logistics Support

·       Support procurement processes in line with CODEC and donor guidelines.

·       Assist in purchasing, supplier coordination, and procurement documentation.

·       Maintain inventory and asset registers for project assets and materials.

·       Ensure proper storage and tracking of office and project supplies.

Coordination & Communication

·       Coordinate with CODEC’s Finance, Administration, HR, Logistics, and Procurement departments to facilitate smooth project implementation.

·       Support the Project Coordinator in operational and financial management tasks.

·       Provide administrative and logistical support to project staff and field teams.

·       Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with project stakeholders.

 

Reporting & Documentation

·       Maintain complete and accurate financial and administrative records.

·       Ensure proper filing and archiving of vouchers, invoices, procurement documents, and contracts.

·       Support internal and external audits and maintain audit-ready documentation.

·       Prepare and submit periodic financial and administrative reports as required.

Compliance & Accountability

·       Ensure compliance with organizational, donor, financial, procurement, and administrative policies.

·       Promote transparency, accountability, and anti-fraud measures.

·       Practice, promote, and ensure compliance with CODEC policies.

·       Support organizational accountability and safeguarding systems.

Safeguarding & PSEA

·       Abide by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) six core principles on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA).

·       Ensure the safety and well-being of learners, colleagues, and community members by preventing any form of abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, or discrimination.

·       Promote safeguarding standards and contribute to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.

·       Serve as a resource person on safeguarding issues and support the effective implementation of CODEC's safeguarding policies and procedures.
