Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist in preparing technical drawings, specifications, BoQ, plans, and documents for electrical works, especially for the rice fortification process.
∎ Provide technical planning & development support for rice fortification project work.
∎ Review project specifications, drawings, and blueprints to determine the scope of work.
∎ Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, including wiring, fixtures, and systems.
∎ Complete preventive (as scheduled) and corrective maintenance for all electrical systems.
∎ Ensure all tasks are performed by relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, BNBC, 90Days, etc.).
∎ Guide team members on electrical systems, safety protocols, and standards.
∎ Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain records of maintenance activities.
∎ Collaborate with other departments to ensure all systems operate efficiently.
∎ Lead and supervise a team of electricians and technicians responsible for the electrical maintenance of machinery, power systems, utilities, internet, and WIFI systems.
∎ Effective plan of electrical machinery for the milling facility, including scheduling, inventory management, and maintenance routines, and establish a system for tracking production outputs and ensuring consistent quality.
∎ Manage the plant operation and the processing of rice fortification including machine experts, operators, foremen, and volunteers.
∎ Provide technical knowledge of electrical & electronics support for Fortified Rice Kernel, packaging, and handling all plant management-related issues.
∎ Establish and implement operational standards and procedures to ensure efficient and outstanding plant output.
∎ Participate in installation, maintenance, and repair work of electrical-mechanical systems.
∎ Actively perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs of electrical equipment, production machinery, and power systems when needed.
∎ Deliver training programs on CAD software according to technical competence and practical demonstrations.
∎ Provide technical training/ orientation on electrical & electronics work for staff, foreman, caretaker, and volunteers.
∎ Develop comprehensive proposals for electrical projects, including pricing, terms and conditions, and project timelines.
∎ Implement and manage the project in line with WFP standards, including proper record-keeping and ensuring correct entitlements are delivered to project participants.
∎ Regularly monitor and submit timely reports, including monthly/quarterly activity plans, progress reports, and final project completion reports as per WFP standards.
∎ Prepare individual work plans according to the rice fortification project plan.
∎ Prepare & follow up on electrical and machinery efficiency monitoring checklists/logbooks for getting the highest production.
∎ Prepare various monitoring checklists like oil use records, hours records, electricity consumption reports etc.
∎ Ensure quality electric & electronic equipment that meets IRB’s drawing, design sectoral guidelines, and organization rules & regulations.
∎ Check work orders and specifications to ensure good quality materials reception,
∎ Provide monthly production reports to WFP, ARRRC, CiC, SMSD, CMO, sector, and other agencies.
∎ Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the activities and suggest operational solutions.
∎ Prepare and manage reports for regulatory agencies (WFP and IRB) and internal stakeholders.
∎ Prepare a monthly summary report and share it with IRB management before external sharing of reports.
∎ Conduct regular performance reviews and address any issues that arise within the team.
∎ Linkages with government officials, the Navy, local electrical authorities, CiCs, CMOs, UN agencies, and NGOs for the smooth operation of project intervention.
∎ Develop and execute strategies to improve production efficiency, and reduce costs, Analyze rice fortification production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
∎ Participate in various personal development training, orientation, and workshops.
∎ Manage procurement processes, including the sourcing of electrical equipment and materials for getting the highest product.
∎ Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of electrical & electronics materials.
∎ Prepare and submit a plan of the monthly activities to the line manager.
∎ Report back any problems and constraints encountered during the activities and suggest operational solutions.
