∎ GIZ has been working as a development partner of Bangladesh since 1972 under bilateral agreement. Currently, we are working in the areas of renewable energy, adaptation to climate change, textile and leather sector, biodiversity, as well as good governance, displacement, and migration.
∎ For the team of our "Project Development Programme, PDP", we seek applications for the position of "Economic Cooperation and Public Sector Development Advisor".
∎ Contract Duration: 31 December 2025
∎ Band: 4
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The position holder is responsible for:
∎ managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior
∎ assisting project/programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups
∎ advise supervisor on all task when implementing GIZ rules and regulation
∎ advise supervisor in the field of project's planning, steering and monitoring
∎ Independently implement goals and requirements set by the line manager
∎ make decisions which have a short-term effect within a limited project area/ unit
∎ assist supervisor to identify day to day problem and suggest appropriate solution
∎ B. Tasks (Specific for Job Role)
∎ Compile information on Bangladesh's Renewable and Energy Efficiency (RE and EE) market, legal framework, and business opportunities
∎ Build networks and identify project opportunities and partners for RE and EE
∎ Facilitate RE and EE project development by advising stakeholders and generating project ideas
∎ Conduct site audits and surveys to collect and verify data on energy consumption, equipment, and site information
∎ Manage load measurement contracts for further technical and financial simulations
∎ Design solar PV systems and cash-flow modelling for commercial and industrial sectors
∎ Work with local banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities
∎ Present results to clients and support tender evaluation
∎ Manage administrative procedures such as contracts and travel bookings
∎ Plan, coordinate, and document meetings, workshops, and seminars
∎ Assist short-term experts and consultants in completing their tasks
∎ Compile an overview of program activities and deadlines
∎ Implement activities outlined in the Project Development Programme's (PDP) operation plan
∎ Represent PDP Bangladesh in regional events and identify relevant tenders for German companies
∎ Prepare PR contributions, compile articles for newsletters, and update program documentation
∎ Update project progress information and assist with report writing
Additional Requirements:
∎ Professional Experiences
∎ 5 years of experience in project development, business development, or market development in the energy or textile industry
∎ Knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency is required; Certified Energy Auditor / Manager accreditation is preferred
∎ Other knowledge, additional competences:
∎ In-depth experience in project development is a prerequisite
∎ Existing network within the RE and/or EE industry, especially in the textile industry
∎ Ability to work under pressure, good interpersonal and communication skills, fluency in English, ability to work in an intercultural environment, excellent networking skills
∎ Strong organizational competence, administrative and event organization experience are a plus
∎ Willingness to travel abroad and to project sites across the country
