Job Context:

∎ Contract length: Two Months

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop a detailed research work plan which includes activities, duration and resources required to complete the assignment within a given time with input from IRC
∎ Review IRC's existing models for ECD programming designed for the MacArthur-supported ECD initiative in the Middle East.
∎ Develop research tools for interviews, focus groups and participatory action research with children, caregivers and service providers
∎ Conduct research with displaced and host community children, caregivers and service providers to inform strategies for adaptation or integration of existing IRC/SW ECD program models (translation services may be provided for consultants that do not have appropriate language skills).
∎ Map existing service platforms within the Rohingya refugee response and host communities that would could provide opportunities for the integration of ECD programming
∎ Conduct an actor mapping of relevant partners to inform program design and scaling strategies
∎ Develop a comprehensive report, including proposed recommendations for program design with an estimation of up-front and ongoing costs for each program model and time line
∎ Present research findings and recommendations to country team and relevant technical staff for review
∎ Submit final copy of the research finding to the DDP.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years proven experience in participatory and/or mixed methods research related to early childhood development, education, health, and nutrition or child protection;
∎ Prior experience and excellent understanding of working in emergency settings, humanitarian contexts or insecure environments;
∎ Strong analytical and interpersonal skills;
∎ Strong written and oral communication skills, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment and effective in representation and coordination with external actors;
∎ Promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle stress and pressure with professional grace;
∎ Able to respond rapidly to changing environments, ability to travel to the field operation and work under pressure;
∎ Excellent Computer skills: MS Word, Excel;
∎ Cultural and social context sensitivity;
∎ Fluency in English (Excellent written and speaking) and knowledge of Bangla and Rohingya is a plus.
