BACKGROUND OF GONOSHASTHAYA KENDRA AND THE PROJECT:

Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) is a National NGO. GK registered as a Public Charitable Trust in 1972 and started with two visions (a) “the fate of the poor decides the fate of the country, and (b) “development of the country depends on the development of women.”

Gonoshasthaya Kendra Bangladesh and its partner Malteser International are two humanitarian organizations in Bangladesh that have been working on emergency programs since September 2017, post-emergency and development.

Job Description / Responsibility

• Drive safely and carefully, observing the speed limits and traffic rules; take extra caution in bad weather or if the road is in bad condition.

• To update the logbook: recording mileage, fuel receipts, servicing, repairs, accidents, and other incidents.

• While driving always carry a valid driving license and all documentations that are needed to drive (insurance, accident declaration sheet, HF and VHF radio frequency list and licenses, maps, etc.)

• Responsible for daily vehicle checks, which include (fuel level, engine oil, coolant level, brake and clutch fluids, windscreen washer fluid, radiator grill is clean, tire condition, any possible leaks, and radio equipment).

• Responsible for performing weekly vehicle checks according to the GK Logbook.

• Responsible for correct loading and unloading of the vehicle.

• Always checks the daily and or weekly planning of his car and makes sure that the car is ready for departure on time.

• Is responsible for the number and condition of tools and the spare parts, like a spare tire, High-lift jack listed on the vehicle logbook.

• To secure and guard the vehicle while on duty. The driver must always stay close to the vehicle to attend to the call.

• Perform any additional task as per the instruction of the office.

Job Requirements:

• Have valid Driving Licenses

• Minimum Three years of work experience as a Driver

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in hardship situations and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.

• Required competency 

• Flexibility in working hours because of the emergency relief nature of GK's activities

• Ability to face workload and good time management

• Good communication skills to work with the partner

• Languages: (Bangla and Chittagoian compulsory)

• Good in English
