Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial) or related field.
Master’s degree/MBA in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
7–10 years of relevant experience in procurement of plant machinery and spares.
Experience in large manufacturing/engineering/construction/industrial projects is an advantage.
1. Procurement Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement procurement strategies for machinery, plant assets, and spares aligned with project and production needs.
Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate trends in price and availability.
Forecast procurement needs based on project schedules, maintenance plans, and production forecasts.
2. Sourcing & Supplier Management
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and manufacturers for plant and machinery.
Establish supplier contracts ensuring competitive pricing, quality assurance, and delivery terms.
Maintain and evaluate supplier performance using KPIs (quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness).
3. Technical & Commercial Evaluation
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to understand technical requirements of equipment and spares.
Review technical specifications and participate in pre-bid and technical bid evaluations.
Prepare and present commercial comparisons and recommendations for procurement decisions.
4. Procurement Execution
Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle: requisition, RFQ, bid evaluation, PO issuance, delivery follow-up, and payment coordination.
Ensure timely delivery of machinery and critical spares to avoid production or project delays.
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for receipt, inspection, and storage of materials.
5. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, vendor contracts, warranties, and AMC agreements.
Monitor and control procurement budgets for capital assets and spare parts.
6. Cost Optimization & Risk Management
Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, bulk procurement, and alternate supplier development.
Assess and mitigate procurement risks related to quality, lead time, and supply chain disruptions.
