Education:

Bachelor`s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, Marketing, Development Studies, Public Health or any related discipline from a recognised university. Formal training or academic coursework in strategic communications, branding, digital media, or development communication will be considered as an advantage.

  • Proficiency in content creation tools (Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop) and digital platforms.
  • Media relations and crisis communication capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of public health programmes, development communication, and social sector operations in Bangladesh.
  • Familiarity with donor reporting requirements, visibility guidelines, and communications standards of major health funders (Global Fund, bilateral agencies, foundations).
  • Understanding of BRAC's health portfolios including TB, malaria, MNCH, NCDs, and community health worker models.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of communications or branding experience in public health, development, or NGOs. Must have a proven track record in donor relations, annual reports, crisis communication, and multistakeholder coordination. Experience managing creative agencies and collaborating with international health partners is highly preferred


Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose: The Manager will manager and coordinate communications and branding for the BRAC Health Programme by ensuring coherent messaging, visibility, and stakeholder engagement across health portfolios, donor partnerships, and government collaborations, effectively showcasing programme impact and supporting the delivery of equitable, community-based healthcare across Bangladesh.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of BRAC Health`s communications strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, donor requirements, and key health portfolios including TB, malaria, MNCH, NCDs, and emerging areas.

  • Develop and maintain a coherent programme narrative across digital, print, and donor-facing platforms by combining human-centred storytelling with programmatic evidence and data.

  • Serve as the focal point for all communications deliverables, coordinating inputs, timelines, and quality assurance across internal teams, partners, and external vendors.

  • Oversee the end-to-end production of communications materials such as success stories, case studies, annual and donor reports, policy briefs, campaign toolkits, and newsletters tailored to diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Plan and execute national-level campaigns, advocacy initiatives, and policy engagement events aligned with health observances, programme milestones, and strategic priorities.

  • Manage media relations and external outreach, including proactive engagement, message positioning, and crisis communication preparedness (e.g., rapid response protocols and holding statements).

  • Coordinate with knowledge management team and central communications to ensure compliance with organisational learning documentation, reporting standards, and brand guidelines.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
