Educational Requirements:
∎ Minimum Master’s/MBA/equivalent degree from any relevant discipline like Development Studies, Management, Economics from any recognized university.

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 10 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Actively contribute to implement UCEP Bangladesh’s values, vision, mission and goals.
∎ Uphold the best interest of the organization at all times and ensure security and safeguard of life, property and dignity of UCEP Bangladesh, its entities, its beneficiaries and staff.
∎ Maintain and ensure that all relevant policies and guidelines of UCEP Bangladesh are duly complied with and adhered to.
∎ Develop a portfolio of social enterprises like securing new funding/securing revenue streams and developing/refining concepts.
∎ Develop and apply enterprise development best practices and approaches into new programming of UCEP Bangladesh.
∎ Evaluate and promote cross linkage opportunities for social enterprise development.
∎ Provide strategic guidance and management oversight to the current and upcoming teams, enterprises, projects and initiatives grouped in the Social Enterprise Development portfolio.
∎ Develop preliminary and dynamic concepts relating to Social Enterprises and their value propositions for making those concepts viable, competitive and sustainable.
∎ Identify, develop and roll out business models to support UCEP Bangladesh's social enterprise goals.
∎ Set priorities in terms of short, mid and long term for the department making explicit references to their impacts/outcomes/fallouts etc.
∎ ? Develop, perform and manage business plan activities for the social enterprises, including monthly, quarterly and annual planning.
∎ Actively contribute to identifying value added services and value addition activities that create uniqueness and visibility of UCEP Bangladesh social enterprises in the relevant domain.
∎ Lead initiatives in designing, developing and executing new ideas (enterprise, products, projects etc.), market testing, collaborations, partnerships and piloting.
∎ Develop and oversee a communications and marketing strategy to showcase the work of Social Enterprise portfolio through multiple media to elevate their external presence among thought leaders and key influencers through the dissemination of research and information about related activities.
∎ Identify funding opportunities for UCEP Bangladesh social enterprises through various dynamic means like branding, networking and strategic partnerships etc.
∎ Ensure strict governance to and rigorous compliance practices with our country laws, rules and regulations.
∎ Practice and promote concepts of value for money, cost effectiveness and Do-No-Harm approach.
∎ Promote and contribute to ongoing efforts towards gender equity & equality, child/staff protection & safeguard, inclusiveness, accessibility and discrimination free environment in the workplace and operations/activities/plans. In applicable cases, ensure that necessary budget allocation is there and in KPIs these issues are reflected regarding employees under supervision.
∎ Represent UCEP Bangladesh in relevant events, programs and forums as required and requested.
∎ Map prospective avenues for social enterprise development involving organizational structure, nature, brand value, credibility and resources.
∎ Develop and support outbound enterprise sales opportunities that are likely to lead to pitches, engagement, relationship building & growth in the Enterprise pipeline resulting in incremental revenues for UCEP Bangladesh.
∎ Develop timely plans and guide management for necessary preparations for reinvestment.
∎ Be a brand ambassador of the organization & deliver the organization’s story & value propositions.
∎ Guide the enterprise development team in sharpening UCEP Bangladesh’s overarching enterprise development strategies, approaches to work and how we may communicate about them to others.
∎ Coordinate with the management to oversee UCEP Bangladesh’s portfolio, monitor its overall financial health and take actions as needed to launch social enterprise initiatives and their long-term competitive sustainability.
∎ Lead program budgeting and work planning processes with the social enterprise development team, and monitor actual results on a regular basis.
∎ Work with the management to assess risk management aspects of social enterprise development work, develop and implement mitigation strategies as needed and requested.
∎ Develop necessary operational structures/frameworks and systems to support the launch of new social enterprises.
∎ Actively lead the initiative to optimize and sustain sales performance, cost leadership, net profitability, service quality and customer satisfaction.
∎ Take an active role within the business planning cycle and financial appraisal modelling work for any social enterprises.
∎ Identify and develop partnerships with other businesses and organizations who can support in our efforts towards sustainability/social enterprise development.
∎ Develop and implement relevant project concept notes/ proposals, business plans, operational manuals, project progress/completion reports for UCEP social enterprises as needed to determine time frame, budget, procedures, staffing requirements, regulatory compliance and allotment of resources.
∎ Develop and implement annual business goals, including revenue plans.
∎ Devise market and revenue management strategies for all UCEP social enterprises.
∎ Plan, develop and lead technology based business solutions (ERP, website, social site etc.) in the entire operations of Social Enterprise Development Department.
∎ Monitor and maintain operations & overhead cost in order to ensure maximum revenue/return to the enterprise.
∎ Update the strategic planning process through annual business plans (outlining financial projections) based on performance analysis.
∎ Develop and execute outreach plans to find potential clients/customers which may benefit the organization. This may include activities like attending industry events, hosting events, doing direct outreach and working with existing network.
∎ Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements deal potentials amid internal priorities and external environment.
∎ Contribute to enhancing organizational reputation, visibility by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
∎ Render all necessary support so that auditing activities (internal/external) are conducted in a smooth manner.
∎ Guide and monitor the team members so that corrective and preventive measures after auditing activities are taken in a timely maintained and duly adhered to as a matter of practice.
∎ Ensure regulatory compliances (e.g. return submission, VAT, Tax etc.) are made in relation to Social Enterprise Development department operations.
∎ Ensure proper accounting of UCEP social enterprises- primarily revenue and expenditures including proper tax calculation, profit calculation, etc.
∎ Actively work with monitoring, evaluation and knowledge management team in the applicable areas for ensuring sustainability, transparency, efficacy and soundness of different Social Enterprise Development Department initiatives.
∎ Design and utilize performance metrics (e.g. log. frame) and analytic tools to gather market intelligence, evaluate product effectiveness and results to ensure alignment with strategic goals and milestones.
∎ Achieve superior growth and market performance through entrepreneurial approaches to implement innovative business concepts.
∎ Participate in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of key program activities according to requirements and regulations.
∎ Through quantitative and qualitative analysis, identify areas of strength and weakness to improve overall performance.
∎ Monitoring of budgets and expenditures.
∎ Liaison on a regular basis with business development partners, donor institutions, agencies and commercial partners.
∎ Secure new funding streams by developing/refining concepts.
∎ Conduct effective negotiation in applicable areas like sales cycles, strategic partnerships and technical agreements.
∎ Actively collaborate with sales & marketing team to develop integrated enterprise marketing collateral and messaging.
∎ Ensure that timely and regular progress/activity updates, annual report etc. are shared with Knowledge Management and Corporate Affairs Department.
∎ Ensure timely and effective communication and follow up of all management decisions relating to concerned individuals/groups and vice versa.
∎ Assist in developing and preparing business plans, briefings, and public relations materials.
∎ Build sincere trust, beyond the insights and strategic inputs.
∎ Define and oversee the execution of outreach strategies and ensure our messaging and channels reflect our target groups’ (customers/ /clients) needs.
∎ Maintain industry credibility, prospect for new business through all activities of the department.
∎ Build relationships with colleagues and beyond to identify and facilitate cross-sell opportunities.
∎ Provide tactical and strategic inputs to the team members/senior management team/board/association in the applicable cases in a timely manner to make informed decisions/inputs etc.
∎ Ensure implementation of Decent Work principles especially Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) following OSHA standards.
∎ Ensure development of infrastructure and mechanisms sensitive to the requirements of all genders and people with different types of physical or cognitive impairments to ensure easy accessibility, mobility, safety and security in entire project implementation phases/activities.
∎ Ensure that all operations are conducted maintaining proper adherence to safety and security issues/regulations.
∎ Ensure that safety and security systems are fully functional in case of necessity/emergency.
∎ Ensure that employees are adequately oriented with safety issues (emergency exit, use of fire extinguishers etc.).
∎ Ensure that safety inspections are conducted on a regular basis.
∎ Ensure that infrastructures, facilities, compound etc. are as environment friendly as possible, maintaining lowest level of carbon footprints and ensuring maximum preservation of energy.
∎ Ensure that regular reports (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) are prepared, organized, shared and archived on a regular basis.
∎ Ensure that records of sales, revenues, invoices, designs, proposals, approvals, licenses, registrations, certificates etc. are properly preserved and readily available.
∎ Lead the initiative to establish new records management systems.
∎ Develop, maintain, verify and evaluate existing systems and address the areas for improvement in case of documentation and recordkeeping.
∎ Oversee the smooth transformation from paper to electronic record-keeping.
∎ Undertake necessary measures so that records are classified based on sensitivity, vulnerability, importance etc.
∎ Ensure that records are easily accessible when needed.
∎ Provide training to staff who require access or have responsibility for maintaining records.
∎ Design, develop and manage efficient and effective staff management mechanisms.
∎ Outline work plan and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to relevant staff.
∎ Collect regular reports from employees under supervision in a bid to know about updates on assignments/assigned duties and responsibilities.
∎ Supervise the workforce including casual workers, short-term contract and long-term contract staff, outsourced HR services etc.
∎ Ensure timely attendance and quality performance of all staff members under supervision.
∎ Ensure development and implementation of Annual Work Plans (AWP) with appropriate performance indicators and means of verification.
∎ Ensure proper follow up of staff performance through 360-degree PSM.
∎ Identify staff learning needs and assist in the development and growth processes.
∎ Ensure that proper checking is there of related documents (e.g. attendance, wages, overtime and other relevant issues) relating to Social Enterprise Development department staff members.
∎ Facilitate cohesion, healthy and professional relationship among the employees.
∎ Ensure operational excellence in the day-to-day management of the business including forecasting, pipeline development, training, hiring, performance management and team collaboration.
∎ Supervise enterprise development staff with focuses on empowerment with accountability, including supportive coaching, problem-solving, and other forms of direction and assistance.
∎ Lead annual program budgeting and work planning process with the enterprise development team and monitor actual results.
∎ Ensure to facilitate the optimum level of return on investment regarding human resources.
∎ Undertake timely initiative so that optimum level of employees is there.
∎ Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for relevant staff members so that activities are conducted properly amid least supervision/direction.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
∎ At least 10 years of relevant professional experience of which at least 05 years as Manager or equivalent position of field level program at a large national or international organization preferably in the non-profit sector.
∎ Experience of working with international donors will be an added advantaged.
∎ Excellent command on communication skills both in Bangla and English.
∎ Excellent computer operating skills & conversant with MS Office package including latest financial, accounting, HRM etc. software (e.g. ERP, HRMS, Quickbook etc.) and other software and e-tools. Preference will be given to experiences or qualifications on tech-based business solutions.
∎ Self-motivated, adaptable, team player and passion for social development works.
∎ Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
∎ Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information, communication and documentation (in electronic or hard copy forms) of UCEP Bangladesh and all its entities at central and regional levels.
∎ Management has the ability to make exceptions based on qualifications.
