Job Context:
∎ Work as an expert to design, develop and implement/establish sustainability strategy/ mechanisms for UCEP Bangladesh which will include wide range of mechanisms for its implementation in line with UCEP Bangladesh`s values, vision, mission, goals and relevant country laws and thus to make functional and effective Micro Enterprise Development Programs for UCEP Bangladesh.
∎ Provide effective leadership and management of the micro-finance program for UCEP Bangladesh`s efficient operation and long-term sustainability.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Strategic (20%)
∎
∎ Contribute to implementing UCEP Bangladesh's values, vision, mission and goals, and development of future strategy documents as needed.
∎
∎ Conduct a feasibility study to assess viability, potentials, challenges; identify and map existing good practices in Bangladesh and identify lessons relevant for UCEP Bangladesh; to review UCEP Bangladesh's previous efforts to introduce and manage a Micro Finance Program and derive lessons for consideration.
∎
∎ Develop a Business Plan; design a Micro Enterprise Development Programme and Department for UCEP Bangladesh; establish functional management mechanisms considering lessons learnt and in light of contemporary good practices, standard rules & regulations of regulatory authorities and relevant policies.
∎
∎ Conduct a risk analysis with mitigation measures, a road map with strategies and detailed work plan for implementation, advocacy / lobbying / marketing plan, logo and branding plan, capacity building mechanisms and plan to efficiently and effectively manage the program ensuring transparency and compliance.
∎
∎ Conduct in-depth analysis of different aspects of program designing like Target Group including their Economic Characteristics, potential program area and beneficiaries, source of fund, criteria of loan, credit policy, eligibility for credit, type of credit, fund management & bank account, monitoring, supervision and (internal and external) evaluation, location and branch network, payment mechanisms, loan size, charges and interest rates, investment policy, management structure (manpower, introducing departments, sections, units etc.), manpower planning (e.g. job analysis, job forecast etc.), recruitment (e.g. recruitment process, flows etc.), training & development.

∎
∎ Develop viable overall business plan relating to micro enterprise program following due consultation/coordination in line UCEP Bangladesh's strategic vision.
∎ Lead the initiatives towards the implementation of activities relating to micro enterprise program as laid out in the strategic plan of UCEP Bangladesh.
∎ Assist to establish appropriate, effective and efficient monitoring & evaluation tools and systems for related operations.
∎ Develop, revise and update operations manual and procedures concerning lending methodologies, financial services, internal control system and other relevant documents in a compliant manner.
∎ Revise and/or newly develop products based on market surveys and client regular feedbacks.
∎ Promote the relevant products/services among the relevant groups/communities.
∎ Develop proposal for funding whenever appropriate and requested.
∎ Ensure that the assigned plans/activities are duly implemented so their targets/deliverables are duly achieved.
∎ Assist and lead the initiatives for undertaking/implementing the agreed/appropriate remedial/preventive measures.
∎ Ensure smooth and sustainable scaling up with quality operational performance consistent with regulatory body/organizational standards.
∎ Prepare, compile, preserve relevant data relating outcomes/efficacy levels/viability/operational soundness/upcoming challenges and present those with relevant bodies like senior management team, Board of governors etc.
∎ Develop and initiate tech-based operations (like loan tracking system) of this particular program so that the entire operations are better managed, controlled and monitored etc.
∎ Assist in conducting internal and external audit operations and follow up with audit findings.
∎ Undertake regular market surveys covering scope & span of operations, target group/area, operational & product/service leadership, competitive advantage, market trends, challenges/risk and opportunities etc. and those with the management on a regular basis.
∎ Undertake necessary measures to serve the clients with their required services, products in a timely manner.
∎ Address suggestions, grievances, opinions and recommendations so that those are reflected in the service delivery/business plan for greater retention of business and wider visibility as a coveted brand.
∎ Undertake initiatives for wider visibility of relevant services/products among the existing and potential clients/customers.
∎ Maintain a database relating to customers/clients in a bid to facilitate regular and effective relations with organization's program.
∎ Promote and contribute to ongoing efforts towards gender equity & equality, child/staff protection & safeguard, inclusiveness, accessibility and discrimination free environment in the workplace and operations/activities/plans. In applicable cases, ensure that necessary budget allocation is there and in KPIs these issues are reflected regarding employees under supervision.
∎ Maintain strict confidentiality of information, documents and other internal and external communications.
∎ Undertake initiatives as required and requested by the management from time to time.

∎ Ensure that team members are performing their duties and responsibilities in accordance with the established professional standards & ethics and remain abreast of emerging trends and best practices that can be incorporated into the function.
∎ Explore and undertake necessary measures to arrange training & development initiatives for team members under supervision from internal/external sources.
∎ Provide necessary guidance and capacity building support to direct and indirect supervisees.
∎ Assist to attract, hire, and retain a team of high-performing professionals who possess outstanding knowledge, experience, ethics, and integrity.
∎ Develop team capacity both at HO and field level through intensive supervision, mentoring and training.
∎ Ensure supervision and performance evaluation of employees under supervision.
∎ Ensure systematic and effective delegation and decentralization of tasks.
∎ Develop staff's capacity through mentoring, coaching and counselling, so that they can be promoted.
∎ Develop & revise the job description, core competency of relevant staff when needed.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in the field of micro-credit/social enterprise development preferably with any renowned NGO, of which at least 5 years as Manager or equivalent position at a large national or international organization.
∎ Excellent command of communication skills both in Bangla and English.
∎ Self-motivated, adaptable and team player.
∎ Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
∎ Knowledge of a variety of reporting procedures, regulations and law by maintaining standard quality and deadline.
