Job Context:
∎ Start Date: Contingent upon award, anticipated January 2024
∎ Job Description: DevWorks International (DevWorks) is recruiting for a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) / Technical Director for the anticipated USAID Feed the Future (FTF) Bangladesh Aquaculture Development Activity. The Aquaculture Development Activity will increase aquaculture productivity for better income and nutrition of rural households by promoting the adoption of technologies and improved management practices on aquaculture; strengthening market linkages by engaging market actors; and promoting the adoption of nutrition related behaviors for better consumption of fish products.
∎ The DCOP / Technical Director, will, in coordination with the Chief of Party, be responsible for managing the project`s technical intervention strategy, work planning, and activity design. S/he will have direct oversight and management of the technical advisory team. S/he will provide technical direction and support to interventions across all objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Qualifications
∎ Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in designing and implementing aquaculture, fisheries, and/or agriculture projects.
∎ Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as the technical manager or equivalent position for donor-funded projects of similar magnitude and complexity.
∎ Demonstrated expertise in technical areas such as aquaculture development, climate-smart agriculture, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, market systems development, economic and environmental resilience, and gender equality and social inclusion.
∎ Master's degree in Aquaculture or Fisheries, Agricultural Development, Agricultural Economics, Business, International Development, Public Policy, or another related field.
∎ Previous experience in Bangladesh or another South Asian country required.
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
∎ Fluency in English required.
