Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's degree in International Development, Agriculture/Agronomy, Public Health, Nutrition, Water-and-Sanitation Engineering, Economics, and/or related field.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 8 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ Location: CARE Bangladesh Dhaka Office
∎ Duration: Duration of the Contract will be for Five (05) years
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 8 years' of recent and progressively-challenging experience working in food security.
∎ Prior management of USAID funded-programs required. Previous management experience on Title II, DFAP, or MYAP programming is also required.
∎ Experience with two or more of the following: Food for Peace programs, food security, conflict mitigation, peace building, nutrition, income security, or community resilience.
∎ Experience with one or more of the following cross-cutting approaches: gender equity and female empowerment, youth empowerment, and social accountability and governance.
∎ Proven leadership skills. Demonstrated experience recruiting, developing, and managing staff.
∎ Understanding and demonstrated commitment to the importance of gender, youth and social inclusion issues in food security programming.
∎ Demonstrated commitment to principles of Gender Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and PSEAH (safeguarding), as evidenced in previous positions / programming.
∎ Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with host governments, donors, other donor-funded projects and stakeholders, local organizations, and partners.
∎ Experience managing programmatic and financial reporting requirements.
∎ Previous working experience in Bangladesh is preferred but not required.
∎ Fluency in written and spoken French and English.
∎ Highly adaptable personality who can identify areas of change and lead in the application of those adjustments.
∎ Able to lead complex teams, each with individual, and often, competing mandates.
∎ Ability to translate development challenges into opportunities.
∎ Strong communication skills and capacity to relay complex messages in simple and easy to follow content and methods.
∎ Demonstrable experience of managing complex technical teams.
∎ Strong team leadership skills.
∎ Good networking and influencing skills.
∎ Ensure and Promote GEDI and be GEDI sensitive, creating an enabling environment where diversity can flourish and all staff and stakeholders experience inclusion and appreciation.
