Education:
∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science & Engineering
∎ Bachelor's in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Requirements:
Additional Requirements:
∎ 5+ years of experience working with MS SQL Server in a database engineering or administration role.
∎ Proven experience in database design, development, and performance optimization.
∎ Expertise in T-SQL for writing complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
∎ Strong understanding of indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.
∎ Experience with backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery planning.
∎ Knowledge of ETL tools (e.g., SSIS) and data integration processes.
∎ Familiarity with monitoring tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, or third-party solutions.
∎ Understanding of database security, including encryption and role-based access control.
∎ Experience with Azure SQL Database or other cloud-based database platforms.
∎ Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.
∎ Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Design, develop, and optimize databases, tables, and stored procedures to meet application requirements.
∎ Implement database solutions that ensure high availability, data integrity, and security.
∎ Analyze and improve database performance using indexing, query optimization, and partitioning.
∎ Troubleshoot performance issues and resolve bottlenecks in a timely manner.
∎ Manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes.
∎ Perform regular health checks, ensure database integrity, and monitor performance metrics.
∎ Develop ETL processes to integrate data from multiple sources.
∎ Automate data pipelines and ensure efficient data flow between systems.
∎ Implement database security measures, including user roles, permissions, and encryption.
∎ Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and company policies.
∎ Work closely with developers, data analysts, and IT teams to support application development and reporting needs.
∎ Provide technical expertise for database-related issues and incidents.
∎ Document database architecture, processes, and procedures.
∎ Establish and promote database development best practices and coding standards.
