Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 7–10 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database (preferably 19c)
  • Proven experience in SQL and PL/SQL
  • Experience with incremental and full backups
  • Experience in archive log management
  • Experience in indexing and performance tuning
  • Experience supporting enterprise or public-sector systems is preferred

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context: We are responsible for operating and maintaining multiple mission-critical enterprise systems for an important public authority designated as a National Key Point (NKP) installation. These systems rely heavily on Oracle databases and support high-volume, regulated, and business-critical operations.

The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for database administration, performance optimization, backup and recovery, archiving, security, and long-term data availability, working closely with the Senior Software Architect, Senior Software Engineers, and DevOps/System Engineers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases
  • Perform day-to-day database administration activities
  • Design, implement, and manage incremental and full backup strategies
  • Manage archive logs and archiving policies
  • Perform database recovery and restoration when required
  • Analyze and optimize SQL and PL/SQL queries
  • Design and manage indexes for optimal performance
  • Monitor database performance, capacity, and growth
  • Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks
  • Implement database security best practices
  • Manage users, roles, privileges, and access control
  • Support audit logging and compliance requirements
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and availability
  • Support replication and standby database configurations where applicable
  • Collaborate with application teams on schema design and optimization
  • Support data migration and deployment activities
  • Prepare database health, performance, and capacity reports
  • Maintain database documentation and operational procedures
