Experience:
Master’s degree in psychology with good academic records (Educational experience will be flexible for more than 5 years working experience with KP)
2 years’ experience in counselling or psychotherapy; experience in working with most at-risk populations, preferably with the drug user
Training in the field of counselling and drug treatment will be an advantage.

Main Job Description:
The Counselor for the Comprehensive Drop-in Center (CDIC) in Dhaka City shall be mainly responsible for providing counseling sessions to the clients attending DIC. He/she is also responsible for collecting behavioral and psychological data as designed by OST& TCS services and to be maintaining all relevant documents related to his/her assignments. Counselors will be made field visits and home visits of OST & ART clients as per the need and direction of the intervention. He/she will be directly reported to the Senior Technical Officer of Treatment & program and will closely work with other team members of the CDIC in Dhaka City.
However, the specific roles and responsibilities of Counselor are described in the following:
Maintain proper discretion and confidentiality to build trust with OST clients, their families, and peers.
Provide counseling on drug adherence, psycho-social issues, and HIV risk reduction behavior to the OST clients.
Assess the feasibility of enrolment clients according to the study criteria
Collect behavioral & psychological data on a regular basis according to the prescribed format.
Initiate and explore psychiatric support for the eligible OST clients, consultation with STO- Treatment & program
Record keeping and maintaining all kinds of forms/registers, reports, files, guidelines, and other documents related to his/her jurisdiction. e.g. counseling, psychosocial support, behavioral data collection etc.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and other periodical reports as per guidelines and requirements of the OST
Maintain close liaison with other relevant stakeholders
Provide counseling to PWID on positive living and enroll positive PWID on ART
Provide counseling for maintaining ART adherence.
Provide counseling for HIV-Hep C coinfection management.
Extended necessary support to other team members as and when needed and or instructed by his/her supervisor and /or organization.
