Job Context:

∎ Project Name: Comprehensive Prevention Program for People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) and Their Partners
∎ Job location: Comprehensive DIC (CDIC) in Dhaka: Jurain, Tongi and Nayabazar.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Counselor for the opioid substitution therapy (OST) and Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) at Jurain, Tongi and Nayabazar Comprehensive Drop in Center (DIC) shall be mainly responsible for providing counseling sessions to the clients attending the OST clinic. He/she is also responsible for collecting behavioral and psychological data as designed by OST and to be maintained all relevant documents related to his/her assignments. Counselor will be made field visit, home visit of OST and ART clients as per need and direction of the intervention. He/she will be directly reported to Senior Technical Officer (STO)-Treatment and Program, will be closely work with other team members of the Jurain, Tongi and Nayabazar Comprehensive DIC.

∎ However, the specific roles and responsibilities of Counselor described in the followings:
∎
∎ Maintain proper discretion and confidentiality to build trust with OST clients, their family and peers.
∎ Provide counselling on drug adherence, psycho-social issues and HIV risk reduction behaviour to the OST clients.
∎ Assess feasibility of enrolment clients according to the study criteria;
∎ Collect behavioural & psychological data on a regular basis according to the prescribed format;
∎ Initiate and explore psychiatric support for the eligible OST clients, consultation with STO- Treatment and Program
∎ Record keeping and maintain all kind of forms/registers, reports, files, guideline and other documents related to his/her jurisdiction. e.g. counseling, psychosocial support, behavioral data collection etc.
∎ Assist to prepare monthly, quarterly and other periodical report as per guideline and requirement of the OST;
∎ Maintain close liaison with other relevant stakeholders;
∎ Provide counseling to PWID on positive living and enroll positive PWID on ART
∎ Extended necessary support to other team members as and when needed and or instructed by his/her supervisor and or organization.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 2 years' experience in counselling or psychotherapy; experience in working with most at risk population, preferably with drug users.
∎ Training in the field of counselling and drug treatment will be an advantage.
∎ Effective inter-personal communication skill;
Salary: Tk. 25000 (Monthly)
