  • Proven Skills in Desk Review and Secondary Data Analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing secondary data, reports, assessments, and monitoring findings related to child protection.

  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of data from different sources and present clear, concise, and actionable findings.

  • Experience in preparing evidence-based analytical reports, assessments, or situation analyses.

  • Strong writing and editing skills in English, with a track record of producing high-quality reports for UN agencies, INGOs, or donor organizations.

  • Knowledge of the Child Protection Sub-Sector (CPSS) and other inter-agency coordination structures in humanitarian contexts.

Department: Child Protection (CP)

Consultancy period: 3 Weeks Work Location: IRC Cox’s Bazar office with visiting to the CPSS team at ISCG.

Reporting to: Child Protection Coordinator

Purpose

To develop the 2025 Annual Child Protection Analysis Report by synthesizing available data from CPSS sources and partner inputs, highlighting key trends, child protection concerns, and advocacy messages.

Specific objectives:

  • To review child protection data to systematically identify and synthesize child protection concerns.

  • To develop evidence-based strategies in line with the findings to inform humanitarian response in Cox’s Bazar District.

Major Responsibilities

Scope of Work

The consultant will:

  • Review and analyze data from CPSS sources including Child Protection Situation Monitoring (KII and FGDs), CPIMS+ (Case Management Data), CPSS partner 5Ws and monitoring reports, Sector assessments and other relevant documents.

  • Identify priority child protection concerns, trends, and gaps.

  • Develop an evidence-based narrative linking data to response priorities and advocacy needs.

  • Draft the full report, including an executive summary, sector overview, key findings, and advocacy points, and analysis.

  • Incorporate feedback from CPSS coordination team and partners.

Deliverables:

  • Draft CP Analysis Report (first version)

  • Finalized CP Analysis Report (after incorporating feedback)

  • Summary presentation slide deck for dissemination.

Ethical Considerations:

  • The Analysis will hold the highest ethical standards which will include: -

  • Informed Consent: All respondents will provide written informed consent before participating in interviews, focus group discussions, or taking photos/videos or quotes.

  • Confidentiality: No personal identifying information will be used in any reports or publications. Data will be anonymized to protect participants` privacy.

  • Protection of Vulnerable Groups: Safeguards will be in place to protect the rights of vulnerable populations, especially women, children, and persons with disabilities.

  • Training on Safeguarding: The consultant(s) will receive orientation on IRC’s safeguarding policies and the survivor-centered approach to data collection and reporting.
