Job Context:
∎ Community Outreach Worker works directly in the community by providing education, information on obstetric emergencies and referral hub services along with providing assistance to the referral hubs by coordinating patient referrals alongside the referral hub staff. Other duties include assisting in monitoring and evaluation of the community outreach program and outreach to local health care facilities.
∎ Department: Health – Emergency Referral Hubs
∎ Work Location: Ukhiya/Teknaf (Refugee camp)
∎ Reporting to: Community Outreach Team Leader
∎ Contract Length: Up to December 31, 2019 (with possibility of Extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ In the community provide education and information on hygiene, health, nutrition and obstetric emergencies
∎ Visit door to door & mapping the maternal cases in working area, and ensure the pregnant/lactating mother periodic checkup on time and linkage them with nearest maternity center
∎ Coordinate patient transport through CNG and ambulance alongside the emergency referral hub staff
∎ Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records
∎ Assist the community outreach supervisors in the management of community outreach materials in a professional manner, keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt when required
∎ Support the program team in providing and documenting success stories and standard methodologies by the community outreach team
∎ Prepare weekly reports on program data from registers and upload information to online database using Kobo collect application
∎ Maintain registers and electronic records of the outreach project
∎ Ensure that all registers and log books are duly filled and service data is reported accordingly
∎ Support knowledge management functions including documentation of standard methodologies
∎ Support emergency referral system that are in place
∎ Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
∎ Any other duties related to the job description upon request
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 21 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 1 year of experience as a health support worker, preferably in complex humanitarian and/or emergency settings but not mandatory
∎ Understanding of data-collection methodologies and data analysis processes
∎ Basic computer and technical skills, especially Excel
∎ Previous experience with phone based reporting applications desirable, especially Kobo collect
∎ Analytical skills
∎ Ability to maintain stock and manage commodities
∎ Deeply and methodically collects, verifies and records data demonstrating attention in detail
∎ Dedicated and willing to take lead
∎ Capable of working in a team as well as autonomously
∎ Strong communication skills and conversant with English language
∎ Efficient time management skills
∎ Willing to in challenging context
∎ Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
∎ People who have knowledge in Chittagonian language will get preference
Salary: Tk. 25000 (Monthly)
