Job Context:
∎ Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is an international non-profit voluntary organization working in Bangladesh since 1974. Its delegation office is located in Dhaka.
∎ The Community Health Worker (CHW) is to be based in Teknaf where Tdh planning to engage to help the displaced people came from Myanmar.
∎ The CHW is responsible to Improving the overall health status of the displaced/refugee community through regular monitoring of community health work (screening, health messaging, and patient referral systems)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Organizing, training, and supervising the community in terms health and safety
∎ Visiting communities under his/her responsibility, elaborating relevant material and establishing adequate strategies for delivering the focused information to the community.
∎ Ensuring delivery of information to community regarding hygiene, diseases and its prevention, using proper tools and informing communities about TDH services provided
∎ Monitoring, collecting and reporting to the medical team any information linked to the living conditions and the health situation of the population (e.g. food security, vaccination status, nutritional situation, detection of medical needs of the population, number of people arriving or leaving the community, births and deaths in the community, vaccination status of children, etc.).
∎ Maintaining confidentiality regarding all information observed or registered.
∎ Reporting to line manager or medical team if there are people with medical problems, any difficulties and security issues that the CHWs might encounter during meetings with the population and any loss or damage of Tdh materials and equipment.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Experience in community engagement and Outreach; Identify components and strategies for effective culturally responsive outreach.
∎ Good public and interpersonal communication skills
∎ Fluency in Bangla and local languages, Chittagonian and Rohingya
∎ Cultural awareness and sensitivity. Use language that conveys caring and is non-judgmental.
∎ Be sensitive to literacy level and local or regional vocabulary or terminologies.
∎ Understand local health systems & mechanism for health equity
∎ Knowledge of behavior change communication.
∎ Good in application of health Teaching/Coaching/Behavior Change to promote demand and
∎ use of health services
∎ Good records keeping, documentation and reporting
∎ Teamwork and Cooperation
∎ Behavioral Flexibility
Salary: Tk. 28000 (Monthly)
