Responsibilities & Context:

Tự Do Restaurant is a modern Pan-Asian dining destination in Dhaka. We are looking for experienced Commis I Chefs to join our kitchen team. Candidates must have at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, with solid exposure to Pan-Asian hot kitchen operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef de Partie (CDP) and Sous Chef in preparing and cooking Pan-Asian dishes.

  • Carry out mise-en-place (chopping, cutting, marinating, sauce prep, stock making, etc.) before each service.

  • Cook assigned dishes or parts of dishes (wok cooking, stir-fries, soups, grills, curries) under supervision.

  • Follow standardized recipes, portion sizes, and plating guidelines accurately.

  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO system).

  • Clean and maintain assigned workstations, kitchen tools, and equipment.

  • Practice strict hygiene and food safety standards at all times.

  • Assist in receiving deliveries and checking the quality of ingredients.

  • Support senior chefs during peak service and respond quickly to instructions.

  • Report any kitchen or equipment issues to the CDP immediately.

  • Maintain discipline, punctuality, and teamwork in the kitchen.
