- Knowledge of humanitarian action and will to take part in GK and MI actions
- Languages: (Bangla and Chittagonian compulsory)

- Ability to cope with stress working in a camp environment
- Good command of Chittagong/Rohingya language and Bangla. English language skills are an asset.
- Flexibility to perform other tasks and take initiative when required.
- Cultural awareness/ sensitivity and empathy to the target population
- Awareness and observation of universal medical ethics.
- Ability to team management
- Similar work experience in the Roginya response is preferable
- Registrations with the Bangladesh Nursing & Midwifery Council
- At least three years of working experience in a similar position in the Rohingya Camp.
- Experience in NGO/INGO
- Motorcycle riding with a valid license is mandatory.
- Good IT competencies (MS Word, MS Excel, KOBO, Google Form, internet browsing, Email management, and Data and file management)
Responsibilities & Context: Gonoshasthaya Kendra (GK) is a National NGO. GK registered as a Public Charitable Trust in 1972 and started with two visions (a) “the fate of the poor decides fate of the country, and (b) “development of the country depends on development of women.”
GK is managing 43 health centers in 19 districts, two hospitals of 250 beds, the largest dialysis center in Bangladesh where 100 people could be treated simultaneously. GK is running one University, Medical College, Dental College, Medical Technical School, Pharmaceutical Industry and a Vocational training school providing short, long and customized courses for distressed women. GK has awarded numerous national and international awards for its work on health and disaster response.
Gonoshasthaya Kendra Bangladesh and its partner Malteser International are two humanitarian organizations in Bangladesh that have been working on emergency programs since September 2017, post-emergency and development. GK is currently implementing a project funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and Malteser International (MI) of “Improving the health and nutritional situation of refugees in Cox's Bazaar and contributing to the peaceful coexistence of refugee and host communities”. The goal of this project is to improve the health, nutrition, and psychosocial status of refugees while assisting host communities through health education in the community level.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of Community Health Worker (CHW) Supervisor:
- Ensure at least one supervision visit every day with CHWs to observe a support group, community leader group, CHWs' beneficiaries' home visit, or some other behavior change activity.
- During supervisory visits, evaluates CHWs’ performance, provides feedback, and agrees on recommendations to solve problems and improve CHW performance.
- Ensures high quality and timely implementation of community-based activities by the CHWs in his/her catchment area.
- Builds and ensures strong partnerships with health facilities in his/her catchment area.
- Ensures safe and accurate use of working tools provided.
- Ensures quality review of the reports provided by CHWs and collects daily activity reports from each CHW under his/her responsibility, and daily data is submitted to KOBO tools, and weekly compiled data is sent to the Community Outreach Officer.
- Provides training or organizes training for the CHWs and conducts daily evening sessions with CHWs.
- Ensures good implementation of the nutrition activities according to the direction of the Clinic Manager.
- Help to prepare activities calendar & ensure good implementation of community outreach work, including health and hygiene educational individual seasons, and disease surveillance.
- Performed in Various government and non-government events in collaboration with the government and other stakeholders.
- Prepare a proper plan for the regular EPI program.
- Ensure a clear CHWs work plan, activities, data collection method, on-job training, support, and supervision.
- Checking and regular update of IEC material, data collection tools, and proper record keeping of distributed material.
- In collaboration with the Clinic Manager, Community Outreach Officer, and HR Manager, assists in recruiting new CHWs.
- Ensures correct nutritional screenings in health facility-based and regular updates on IYCF activities.
- Collaboration with midwife and psychologist ensures good implementation of SRH & MHPSS activities.
- Provide all related information to the clinic manager regarding leave for CHWs.
- Preservation of all register books, records, documents, and reports.
- Well coordination with the CIC office and other stakeholders
- Collaboration with the Community outreach officer to arrange community leader meetings and conduct Court-yard, FGD, etc. sessions in the community level.
- Helps to community outreach officer collect success stories and activity pictures from the field.
- Performed any other activities assigned by the immediate supervisor.
