Job Context:
∎ The Child Protection Officer (SHLS) will be responsible for organizing Safe Healing and Learning Spaces (SHLS) and adolescent life skills ("SAFE") activities and supporting Facilitators as they work with children, youth, and caregivers in the SHLS.
∎ Position objectives:
∎ Ensure the overall organization and functionality of SHLS according to established standards, tools, and guidelines
∎ Provide daily support to Facilitators and ensure accurate record keeping at the SHLS
∎ Ensure that children harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and referred to appropriate services, including IRC`s CP Case Management team
∎ Serve as the main point of contact for the IRC and community members/parents
∎ Department: Child Protection
∎ Location: Ukhiya/Teknaf (Refugee camp)
∎ Duration: Up to October 31, 2020 with possibility of extension
∎ Start date : At Earliest (Urgent Recruitment)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical Quality
∎ Ensure daily activities for children, adolescents, and caregivers are organized and implemented by the SHLS Facilitators in accordance with IRC guidelines, standards, tools, and procedures
∎ Ensure that quality and safety standards are met in the SHLS, and monitor these on a daily basis
∎ Track the use and consumption of SHLS supplies and materials, and ensure that requests for supplies and or equipment is communicated
∎ Ensure complete and accurate record keeping of attendance and activities, and support M&E activities as requested to support quality programming
∎ Observe and support the Facilitators and monitor their attendance
∎ Post the daily schedule, rules and regulations, and Code of Conduct in the SHLS for all to see; adhere to the Code of Conduct every day - in SHLS and in community
∎ Ensure that all children and youth are safe from harm and report any possible risks to the IRC immediately
∎ Appropriately refer and document referrals of suspected child protection cases; support SHLS facilitators in identifying children at risk
∎ Ensure regular communication about successes, concerns, challenges, and general updates / information between the SHLS and the rest of the Child Protection team
∎ Accountability & Coordination:
∎ Organize community information sessions, meetings and open days
∎ Activate feedback mechanisms, including a process for anonymously reporting violation of the Child Safeguarding Policy and SHLS Code of Conduct
∎ Manage suggestion box or other feedback mechanism and report back to community and share comments with the IRC
∎ Serve as the focal point for communications with the IRC
∎ Serve as the focal point for community members and parents; lead (or delegate) activation of Parents' and Children's Committees
∎ Regularly attend relevant coordination meetings at field level
∎ Staff Supervision & Development:
∎ Directly supervise SHLS and SAFE Facilitators and Volunteers in the SHLS site
∎ Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable Facilitators and Volunteers to successfully perform in their positions
∎ Provide technical support and coaching to SHLS Facilitators, and proactively identify needs and gaps for capacity building
∎ Other Duties:
∎ Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to IRC management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs
∎ Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs

Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children
∎ Previous experience supervising and coordinating a team preferred
∎ Previous experience in capacity building and mentoring of staff preferred
∎ Relevant language skills in Bangla and Chittagong required. English desirable.
∎ Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well.
∎ Commitment to IRC values, including child protection

Salary: Tk. 46350 (Monthly)
