Job Context:
∎ The Child Protection Caseworker will conduct all steps of the case management process for an assigned number of individual children vulnerable to or experiencing abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence (including unaccompanied or separated children) and their families. Position objectives:
∎ To ensure children harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and referred from the wider community, and receive individual case management support by conducting documentation, assessments, action plans, direct service provision, referrals and follow-ups for an assigned case load of children
∎ To directly work with other caseworkers and service providers on management of caseload and referrals
∎ To conduct home visits with children and their families to monitor recovery, provide follow-up and referrals, and assess child protection risks/issues in the home (including other children)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical Quality:
∎ Provide individual case management for children in Cox’s Bazar in accordance with agreed interagency case management steps, protocols, and related tools and procedures
∎ Provide ongoing support to families, including children in foster and alternative care systems, as well as targeted psycho-social support and skills building with caregivers
∎ Communicate regularly with Child Protection Manager and Senior Officer regarding updates and challenges
∎ Grant Monitoring & Reporting:
∎ Provide input for weekly and staff activity reports
∎ Coordination & Representation:
∎ Directly communicate effectively with other caseworkers, service providers, and relevant focal points as part of conducting individual case management and coordination of care
∎ Regularly attend case management meetings, including case conferences, at field level
∎ Coordinate with other IRC sector staff (e.g. Women’s Protection and Empowerment, Health, Nutrition, etc.) at field level
∎ Monitoring Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure accuracy, completion / thoroughness, and confidentiality of case management data entry and data management
∎ Keeping records of cases and compiling into a weekly report for supervisor
∎ Other Duties:
∎ Consistently and dedicatedly monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams; promptly reporting concerns or incidents to IRC management and liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment for IRC programs
∎ Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years of experience with minimum of 1 year's experience of implementing child protection programs, preferable social work or case management, in humanitarian or development settings
∎ Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children
∎ Personal qualities: Team oriented, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting
∎ Strong communication skills in Chittagonian and Bangla
∎ Minimum hold in English language is preferred
