Job Context:
∎ Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is the leading Swiss NGO focusing on child rights. It is active in more than 30 countries with development and emergency projects. Tdh focuses its action on the two following areas of intervention: health and protection of particularly vulnerable children. Modern management and communication tools ensure the quality of Tdh`s projects. The Foundation constantly aims to improve its services.
∎ Violent events in Rakhine State of Myanmar, starting in August 2017, led to the displacement of 615`0001 Rohingya men, women and children towards Cox`s Bazar district in Bangladesh. The mass and speed of the displacement created an acute humanitarian crisis. People arrived with very little belongings and all basic needs are to be met. Beyond water, sanitation, shelter, food and health, protection is an important issue to address notably when it comes to children: they potentially suffered the most from the dramatic events which happened in Myanmar and during the cross border journey to Bangladesh and they are now the most vulnerable in the refugee camps where living conditions are particularly harsh. The displaced population counts 28%2 of children between 5 and 17 years old (14% each per gender). There is potentially - adding the refugees already leaving in the area before the crisis (212`518) - a population of 231`700 individuals which need to be supported. In response to this humanitarian crisis, Tdh seeks to deliver integrated services and support to children in Cox Bazar through provisions of psychosocial support to refugee children, youth and adults and targeted child protection services to the most vulnerable children, including children affected by family separation.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The CP CB manager is responsible for providing capacity building in the areas of child protection by delivering training, thematic workshops and ensuring continued coaching and mentoring based on staff needs assessment. He/she coordinates with the Child Protection Project Managers (CP PMs) to build knowledge and skills of child protection field staff and with other operational teams for the delivery of child protection mainstreaming training. He/she proactively identifies external opportunities for increasing the technical capacities of staff in child protection and other cross cutting themes.
∎ Staff Capacity Building and Development:
∎ Conduct regular staff training need assessments of child protection teams, including community volunteers, and other staff to be trained in CP mainstreaming;
∎ Develop a staff capacity building plan responding to regular needs assessment in coordination with the CP PMs and the supervision of the Project Coordinator;
∎ Develop tools for evaluating trainings;
∎ Regularly review child protection staff's progress through field observation, meetings and other forms of evaluation to inform need for refresh training;
∎ Develop training modules on child protection in emergency, psychosocial support, case management (including PFA) mainstreaming CP, in line with Tdh thematic policy and operational guidance and inter-agency standards and best practices;
∎ Lead training for project teams in close collaboration with CP PMs and under the supervision of the line manager;
∎ Develop and update individual training file for each staff that tracks attended trainings either internal or external according to each individual need assessment and response plan;
∎ Support CP PMs in developing effective induction programs;
∎ Contribute to the developing of ToR for the identification of external trainers and other resources;
∎ Identify and promptly inform the line manager and PMs on upcoming training opportunities in CP in Cox Bazar, Dhaka and in the region to maximise access to training opportunities;
∎ Project(s) Co-operation:
∎ Liaise regularly with CP PMs on training and development needs of child protection teams to meet the needs of projects;
∎ Identify and share with project managers and/or staff any resources that can support field staff to meet the objectives of the project(s);
∎ Provide support to PMs in designing modules and tools relating to activities aiming to build the capacity of local actors (i.e. inputs on contents and methods of delivery) and support in conducting the trainings/sessions if needed;
∎ Develop a Dropbox toolkit as to store and regularly update all the resources used for and in trainings in coordination with CP PMs and direct line manager
∎ Personnel Management / Team Management:
∎ Communicate and collaborate in accordance with the communication contract and participate in implementing it;
∎ Maintain regular flow of communication with CP PMs and other sectors' managers to ensure that the delivery of trainings is planed based on the needs of the projects' and agreed upon a common workplan;
∎ Exchange information with his/her line manager on a regular basis and assist with circulating information following normal communication channels
∎ Help develop synergies within the delegation;
∎ Participate in technical manager meetings
∎ Coordination and representation:
∎ Coordinate with other Tdh sectors to ensure mainstreaming and implementation of standardized activities;
∎ Liaise with other humanitarian actors to seek opportunities for capacity development of child protection staff;
∎ Logistics:
∎ Handle logistic preparations prior to sending Tdh staff to external trainings;
∎ Be in charge of identifying training venues, collecting information regarding potential costs arising from internal and external training opportunities and promptly inform PMs and line manager
∎ Other:
∎ Agree to comply with Tdh Code of Conduct and ensures Child Safeguarding standards are upheld;
∎ Adhere to and ensure the team under her/his responsibility follows Tdh administrative and logistical regulations and procedures;

Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 5 years' experience in the area of capacity building in the area of Child Protection with and International Non-profit Organization
∎ Good IT knowledge (Microsoft Office, Internet, Excel)
∎ Very good knowledge of key child protection issues and best practices
∎ Very good knowledge of the child protection system in Bangladesh/Asia Region
∎ Strong training, facilitation and coaching skills in multicultural settings
∎ Excellent communication, networking, and inter-personal skills
∎ Flexibility and ability to cope with changes in priorities
∎ Fluency in spoken and written English
∎ Knowledge of Bangla language is an asset

Salary: Tk. 160726 - 182708 (Monthly)
