Job Responsibilities:
∎ Plan and ensure all sorts of precautionary measures in order to ensure that the factory and its workers are safe from the hazards of Chemicals that they are using in work time.
∎ To ensure that workers are using all type of PPE as per requirement and there is no lacking.
∎ Ensure necessary training and demonstration among workers about the properties of chemical, their harms, precautions, safety data sheet, procedure to use PPE and other issues related to law and customer’s requirement.
∎ Control & monitor chemical storing management with proper pictograms, MSDS, compatibility charts, secondary containments etc. in store, sub-store & work place with use of proper PPE.
∎ Manage proper disposal of waste chemicals/ remaining chemicals, waste water (if any) from the factory by keeping records.
∎ Maintain necessary records, data and evidences as reference.
∎ Posting necessary papers, safety data sheets, safety instructions, signs and warnings at floors/ work station/ store areas and check time to time to update.
∎ Take necessary survey from time to time to keep the floor update for any kind of audit/ assessment and keep records for next action.
∎ Coordinate with respective Department to ensure periodic inspection and maintenance of records of inspection of safety equipment including but not limited to ventilation equipment, eye wash station, safety showers, spillage management and chemical storage equipment.
∎ Oversees and monitors worker exposures to hazardous materials on an as needed basis. This requirement necessitates remaining current on permissible exposure limit by OSHA as detailed in Safety Data Sheets. Ensures that medical consultative services are available to those requesting or needing such services.
∎ Works with Content Area Specialists (CAS) and respective persons in conducting regularly scheduled hazardous chemical inventories and maintaining an up-to-date inventory log. In addition, ensure that all hazardous chemicals are appropriately labeled and that all Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) or Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available to employees.
∎ Supervise the purchase of all chemicals in conjunction with the CAS.
∎ Review and monitors the disposal of hazardous materials and maintains records of such disposal.
∎ Work, take necessary steps, keep records and update superior(s) as well as customer(s) on CO2 reduction.
∎ Face buyer’s compliance audit when necessary regarding chemical safety management issues.
∎ To support firefighting, HR & welfare team in idle times to boost up self-knowledge and expedite those issues.
∎ Perform other assignments as assign by the superior(s).
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 35 years
∎ The incumbent should be dynamic and have good communication skills in Bangla & English both oral & written.
∎ Should have good skill on report writing and presentation.
∎ Computer literacy is must, especially in office package.
∎ Should have positive and flexible attitude.
Salary: Negotiable
