Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose

To support and optimize chemical production processes in the paper mill, ensuring efficient operations, quality output, safety, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for fresh diploma graduates who are proactive, resilient, creative, fast learners and ready to work in challenging industrial environments. The engineer will work closely with the production and maintenance teams to handle chemical processes within the paper manufacturing system.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Process Support

  • Assist in operating and monitoring chemical processes used in pulp preparation and paper production.

  • Ensure consistent chemical dosing, mixing, and treatment of raw materials and recycled fibers.

  • Collaborate with production teams to maintain continuous flow and stability of chemical processes.

2. Process Optimization & Improvement

  • Collect and analyze process data to identify inefficiencies or deviations and propose improvements.

  • Implement corrective actions to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

  • Support senior engineers in continuous process enhancement efforts.

3. Quality Control

  • Perform routine testing of raw materials, pulp, and chemical additives.

  • Monitor product quality parameters and report deviations for corrective action.

  • Maintain quality standards by adjusting process variables under guidance.

  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Record production data, test results, and process observations accurately.

    • Prepare daily/weekly reports for supervisors.

    • Support documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    4. Troubleshooting & Technical Support

    • Identify basic issues with chemical process lines and equipment.

    • Work with technical and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve process problems.

    • Document incidents and corrective actions.

    5. Documentation & Reporting

    • Record production data, test results, and process observations accurately.

    • Prepare daily/weekly reports for supervisors.

    • Support documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    6. Team Collaboration & Learning

    • Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams.

    • Show adaptability and resilience in responding to production challenges.

    • Continuously learn new methods, technologies, and process improvements.
