Experience:

• Post-secondary training at a culinary institution.

• Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or relevant field.

• At least 2 years

• 2 or more years’ experience working within the food industry as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or relevant role.

• Working knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making process.

• Creative ability with artistic skill in decorating cakes and other desserts.

• Keen attention to detail.

• In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, and nutrition.

• Capable of working in a fast-paced, production environment.

Job Context:

We are looking for a creative Chef, (Pastry & Bakery) to be responsible for crafting delicious desserts and confectionery, designing seasonal menus, and developing new recipes for the pastry section of our kitchen.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods.
• Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.
• Develop new recipes and improve existing ones.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in pastry and bakery.
• Ensure all products meet the highest quality standards.
• Conduct regular quality checks and taste tests.
• Customize orders for special corporate events.
• Ensure consistency in taste and presentation
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Monitoring the stock of baking ingredients.
• Collaborate with the head chef and the other staff to plan seasonal or special event menus.
• Interact with customers to understand their preferences and feedback.
• Ordering new supplies, ingredients, and equipment for the pastry section, when needed, and within budget.
