∎ About WASTE Bangladesh and FINISH Mondial Programme
∎ WASTE Bangladesh is a private consulting firm is implementing FINISH Mondial Programme in Bangladesh. The FM programme in Bangladesh started in January 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, project could only be implemented in 3 out of 8 cities. Nevertheless, relatively good results have been recorded. Financial Inclusion Improves Sanitation and Health (FINISH) Mondial (FM) is a 6-country strategic partnership between WASTE, Amref Flying Doctors and Aqua for All, funded in part by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, currently being implemented in India, Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. In 2021, the Bangladesh programme is being implemented in Sakhipur, Satkhira and Faridpur, Barguna, Kalaroa, Saidpur, Rangpur, Jamalpur and Gaibandha Municipalities and is envisaged to expand to other municipalities in the period 2023-25.
∎ FINISH Mondial aims to sustainably expand access to sanitation and solid waste management through WASTE`s Diamond approach with a focus on providing market-based solutions to increase the demand for, and uptake of, improved sanitation facilities in the countries of operation by creating an enabling environment and enhancing the business environment for the access to improved sanitation facilities. In the long run, the programme aims to attain improved health status and improved sustained socio-economic status within its operational areas.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The business coach is responsible to increase and improve private business activities in the cities that are part of the FM programme. (S)he will coach sanitation and waste management enterpreneurs. S/he is part of the FM team in Bangladesh for assigned activities and other related work that arise under the FM Bangladesh programme.
∎ The business coach is responsible to:
∎ Lead in the design and implementation of the business support strategy.
∎ Identify new and existing sanitation business opportunities and promising start-ups.
∎ Support sanitation and waste service providers by linking them to suppliers and clients.
∎ Provide technical backstopping in business plan development by the sanitation and solid waste management entrepreneurs.
∎ Carry out quick business scans to identify businesses that are eligible for bank loan financing.
∎ Develop a sanitation marketing approach with sanitation service providers and waste processers
∎ Work with the entrepreneurs to improve their operational efficiency, optimise revenue streams and minimise expenses in order to strengthen their business
∎ Coaching of faecal sludge processing operators
∎ Organize and oversee training of sanitation and solid waste management entrepreneurs, the follow up and coaching by local colleagues, To advice the establishment and support of professional platforms / associations for sanitation and waste management service and producer companies
∎ Support FM cities to develop strategies and tools that enable private sector sanitation and waste service providers
∎ Develop and support of a monitoring system to track businesses results
∎ Support the FM team in information management by contributing:
∎ Capturing lessons-learnt based on the project experiences
∎ Contributes to sharing and scaling-up successful approaches among FM colleagues
∎ Prepare documentation for the Supervisory Board meetings and ensure regular information
∎ Prepares analytical reviews and reports related to the overall implementation of this function for the FM team
∎ Qualifications for Business development adviser
∎ University Degree preferably in private sector development, Master's Degree or post graduate studies will be a plus.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of relevant experience.
∎ Practical understanding of the informal business sector in Bangladesh;
∎ Experience with and knowledge of the WASH and circular economy sector.
∎ Proven experience in business coaching
∎ Solid skills and experience to assist SMEs to develop business plans and loan applications
∎ Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Bengali.
∎ Inspiring team player, with good diplomatic, communication and interpersonal skills.
∎ Ability to work independently, manage complex processes, strong result and service orientation
∎ Comfortable to work under pressure, prioritizing requests, needs and meeting deadlines.
