Job Context:
∎ Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is the leading Swiss NGO focusing on child rights. It is active in more than 35 countries with development and emergency projects. Tdh focuses its action on the two following areas of intervention: health and protection of particularly vulnerable children. Modern management and communication tools ensure the quality of Tdh`s projects. The Foundation constantly aims to improve its services.
∎ Following the massive displacement of more than 688,000 people into Bangladesh since end of August 2017, Tdh has put in place an important emergency response plan to provide relief to the Rohingya refugees, notably on nutrition, health, WASH and protection.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the direct and technical supervision of the BSFP/TSFP supervisor, the BSFP/TSFP dispenser S/he will be responsible of the organization of distribution of foods and package. S/he will ensure appropriate flow during distributions of supplementary food, in a timely respected and links to the existing national, sector and donor guideline. S/he will contribute to the development and the implementation of the Target Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP) and the Blanket Supplementary Program (BSFP) in camps.
∎ Main tasks & responsibilities
∎ Ensure the BSFP/TSFP activities, the distribution are conformed to national and international standards and
∎ International guidelines.
∎ Distribute micro-nutrient fortified food to beneficiaries, links to what they need (based on protocol's criteria) ;
∎ Ensure proper utilization and distribution of the nutritious foods.
∎ Give clear instructions how to take de RUSF, WSB, how to store, etc.
∎ Lifting food items from store to distribution point according to the expected number of beneficiaries.
∎ To ensure a good flow of beneficiaries during the distribution.
∎ To ensure a proper organization at the distribution site/point.
∎ Promote good nutrition, health and IYCF practices through nutrition education while ensuring proper utilization of
∎ the nutritious foods.
∎ Beneficiaries timely receive their ration entitlement.
∎ Beneficiaries are given prior information about food distribution schedules, before the distribution date.
∎ Ensure the right enrollment of beneficiaries from the enrolled zones are enrolled and their eligibility verified, with
∎ continued enrolment and discharging mechanisms in place.
∎ Maintain good relation to the colleagues and cooperative plans with another BSFP/TSFP.
∎ Check if the mothers/caregivers understand the given instructions.
∎ Ensure the coordination and continuity of care through verbal and written reports to the supervisor and coordination
∎ with the other health staff.
∎ Answer beneficiaries' questions.
∎ Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor.
∎ Capacity building
∎ Participate actively to the training, meeting required.
∎ Ask advice from BSFP/TSFP supervisor in case of question, problem.
∎ Logistical and administrative support for BSFP/TSFP activities, management
∎ Store the foods according to TDH standards and protocols.
∎ Submit food order to BSFP supervisor/ National Nutrition Coordinator on a requested basis.
∎ Receive the orders from the warehouse and inspect items, as to quality, quantity, and expiry dates. Provide the
∎ warehouse with feedback in case of irregularity.
∎ Arrange stock by designation, with the earliest expiring stock at the front of the shelf and the first in first out
∎ techniques.
∎ Maintain accurate dispensing records and report weekly to the BSFP/TSFP supervisor / National Coordinator.
∎ Notify BSFP/TSFP supervisor in a timely manner in case of a high consumption that may lead to low stock or stock
∎ out.
∎ Together with BSFP supervisor conduct inventory control of dispensary on a regular basis;
∎ Follow all safety measures and rules in the dispensary.
∎ Notify the BSFP supervisor immediately about any change in food, in form of appearance, color, smell, etc. or
∎ about any presence of insects.
∎ Accountability

∎ Ensure that project/s, methodologies, or selection criteria do not place beneficiaries, Tdh staff or any other persons
∎ in harm's way.
∎ Alert his/her line manager without delay, in case of impending danger to teams or beneficiaries
∎ Uphold the image and values of Tdh
∎ Be honest, encourage openness and transparency, demonstrate highest levels of integrity
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Experience in dispenser
∎ Work experience with another NGO's would be an asset
∎ Experience in the implementation of Nutrition projects, preferably in humanitarian contexts
∎ Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel spreadsheets)
∎ Ability to manage a fair workload including emergencies
∎ Good ability for team work
∎ Good communication skills
∎ A commitment to excellence, attention to detail.
∎ Interests: working in humanitarian relief, interest for social issues
∎ Qualities and transversal skills
∎ Culturally and gender based sensitive
