Responsibilities & Context:

o   Technical communication with the brand

• Act as the main technical contact between the factory and the brand.

• Understand and communicate the brand’s technical requirements to factory teams.

• Clarify technical issues, specifications, construction details, and quality expectations.

o   Product development

• Review tech packs, measurement charts, construction details, BOMs, and garment specifications.

• Coordinate sample development, including proto, fit, size-set, PP and other required samples.

• Identify technical problems during development and propose practical solutions.

o   Fit and measurement

• Conduct or participate in fit sessions.

• Review garment measurements against the approved specification.

• Analyze fit comments and ensure corrections are properly implemented.

• Monitor grading and size specifications.

o   Quality and technical standards

• Establish and monitor technical quality standards according to brand requirements.

• Ensure garment construction, workmanship, measurements, appearance, and performance meet specifications.

• Investigate recurring technical defects and drive corrective actions.

o   Production monitoring

• Follow up on technical issues from cutting through sewing, finishing, washing, and packing.

• Work closely with production, quality, merchandising, pattern, IE, and finishing teams.

• Ensure approved construction and specifications are maintained during bulk production.

o   Pattern and construction

• Review patterns and garment construction methods.

• Work with pattern and sample departments to resolve fitting or construction problems.

• Evaluate whether proposed construction changes are technically and commercially feasible.

o   Pre-production preparation

• Participate in pre-production meetings.

• Ensure all approved samples, comments, specifications, and technical documents are available before bulk production.

• Identify potential production risks and establish preventive actions.

o   Problem solving

• Analyze technical problems such as poor fit, twisting, puckering, shrinkage, measurement variation, seam problems, fabric behavior, and construction defects.

• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

o   Brand compliance

• Ensure production follows the brand’s technical manuals, workmanship standards, testing requirements, and restricted-substance or product-safety requirements where applicable.

• Coordinate required testing and follow up on failed or questionable results.

o   Factory team development

• Train technical, quality, production, and sample teams on brand requirements.

• Standardize technical procedures and improve technical capability within the factory.

o   Documentation and reporting

• Maintain technical files, fit comments, measurement reports, sample approvals, testing records, and corrective-action reports.

• Prepare technical status reports and communicate risks or delays to management and the brand.

o   Continuous improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve garment construction, quality, productivity, and consistency.

• Work with production and engineering teams to reduce defects, rework, and technical problems
