• Professional certifications in HR, labor compliance, or related fields will be considered an advantage.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Administration, Compliance, and Industrial Relations within the Garments & Textile/RMG sector.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior HR leadership role within a large-scale manufacturing or export-oriented organization.
• Strong exposure to labor law, buyer compliance, social compliance, employee relations, workforce planning, and HR governance.
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic General Manager – HR to lead the Human Resources function within a dynamic Garments & Textile environment. The incumbent will drive HR strategies aligned with business objectives while ensuring compliance with Bangladesh labor laws, international standards, buyers’ requirements, and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate will have strong RMG/Textile sector experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record in talent development, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and industrial relations.
Develop and execute HR strategies, policies, and systems aligned with business objectives and legal/buyer requirements.
Lead manpower planning, budgeting, recruitment, workforce optimization, job analysis, competency mapping, and succession planning.
Provide strategic HR advice to senior management on workforce, talent, organizational development, and employee relations matters.
Establish and continuously improve a KPI-based Performance Management System.
Lead goal setting, performance evaluation, career development, talent retention, and leadership development initiatives.
Build a sustainable talent and succession pipeline across key functions.
Oversee compensation, benefits, HR administration, and personnel management.
Ensure internal equity, market competitiveness, regulatory compliance, and efficient HR operations.
Drive process improvement and digitalization of HR systems.
Develop initiatives to improve employee engagement, motivation, productivity, and retention.
Lead grievance handling, disciplinary procedures, conflict resolution, and employee relations.
Promote a respectful, inclusive, safe, and productive workplace culture.
Develop annual training and development plans based on organizational and competency requirements.
Implement programs covering workplace standards, compliance, safety, ethics, HR policies, and professional development.
Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Labor Law, factory regulations, Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting requirements, ILO conventions, and applicable buyer standards.
Ensure readiness for customer, social compliance, and regulatory audits.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise management on required actions.
Establish effective HR governance, internal controls, and risk mitigation measures.
Maintain effective relationships with BGMEA, BTMA, Labor Offices, Fire Service & Civil Defence, Labor Courts, auditors, buyers, consultants, labor representatives, and relevant authorities.
Represent the organization in audits, inspections, regulatory matters, and industry engagements.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team.
Establish HR dashboards, analytics, and management reporting for data-driven decisions.
Identify organizational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
Drive continuous improvement across the HR function and undertake other responsibilities assigned by senior management.
