Responsibilities & Context:
- Design and deliver comprehensive barista training programs covering espresso preparation, cold drinks, brewing methods, milk steaming/frothing, and latte art.
- Develop lesson plans, training manuals, demonstrations, and hands‑on workshops to ensure trainees gain both theoretical and practical skills.
- Stay updated on current coffee and café industry trends, new brewing or flavoring techniques, and incorporate them into training.
- Monitor trainee progress via practical assessments and feedback; coach them to meet quality, speed, and presentation standards.
- Create attractive training schedules, coordinate training sessions, manage training logistics (supplies, space, equipment).
- Developing new drink recipes or seasonal menu items, especially leveraging MONIN syrups, and train staff accordingly.
- Maintain consistency of beverage taste, presentation, and service quality in all drinks made by trainees.
- Keep detailed records of training sessions: attendance, trainee performance, feedback, improvement plans.
- Use own networking and outreach ability to recruit and enroll suitable trainees for the barista training course.
- Assist management in promotion of the training course: help in marketing/trade shows, social media or community outreach by using contacts.
- Provide excellent customer service role modelling: professionalism, grooming, communication, and mentoring in soft skills for trainees.
- Ensure hygiene, health & safety, food safety standards are strictly followed during training and in practice.
- Introduce and educate trainees on the MONIN syrup product line — flavor profiles, recipe pairing, correct dosage and creative syrup usage.
- Teach proper use, handling, cleaning, and maintenance of all café equipment (espresso machines, grinders, steamers, etc.).
