Responsibilities & Context:
∎ This IT Infrastructure Assistant Manager who is responsible for managing the technology infrastructure and Telecom operations. This includes managing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's hardware, software, and networking systems. This role also involves ensuring the IT & Telecom Infrastructure and operations run securely, reliably, and efficiently.
∎ Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans including timelines, budget, resource allocation, and deliverables.
∎ Requirements Gathering: Identify and gather project requirements from Planning team, related stakeholders.
∎ Network Design and Planning: This involves determining network topology, designing fiber optic transmission systems selecting appropriate hardware and software components, considering factors like capacity, scalability, and security.
∎ Network Installation and Configuration: Install and configure network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and other telecommunications devices of (Fortinet, CISCO, Juniper, Huawei)
∎ Ensure proper connectivity and integration between network elements, and configure protocols, IP addressing, and network services.
∎ Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, identify and resolve network issues, and troubleshoot connectivity problems.
∎ Use network monitoring tools to analyze network traffic, detect anomalies, and optimize network performance.
∎ Network Security: Implement security measures to protect the network infrastructure from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
∎ Network Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch installations, and equipment replacements.
∎ Network Optimization: Analyze network performance metrics and implement optimization strategies to enhance network efficiency and reliability.
∎ This may involve fine-tuning network configurations, optimizing routing protocols, and implementing Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms to prioritize critical traffic.
∎ Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, software developers, project managers, and service providers, to coordinate network deployments, resolve issues, and support business objectives.
∎ Clearly communicate technical concepts and network-related information to non-technical stakeholders.
∎ Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations, and procedures.
∎ Create reports on network performance, incidents, and resolutions.
∎ Develop and update network diagrams and schematics.
∎ Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep up to date with advancements in IT & telecommunications technologies, industry standards, and regulatory (BTRC/IOF) requirements.
