Job Purpose

The role is responsible for designing, developing, automating, securing, and maintaining scalable Python-based enterprise applications, including Odoo (ERP), together with the infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines that support them. The role focuses on enterprise-grade ERP development, cloud infrastructure, containerization, monitoring, automation, deployment strategies, and system reliability, while collaborating closely with QA and infrastructure teams to ensure efficient software delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development (Python / Odoo / Django)

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade ERP modules and business applications using Python, Odoo, and Django.

• Develop and customize Odoo modules – models, views, workflows, access rules, and reports – in line with business requirements.

• Build and consume REST APIs and integrations between Odoo and internal or third-party systems.

• Write clean, testable, well-documented code and participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.

Database Design & Optimization

• Design and maintain database schemas across PostgreSQL and MongoDB to support ERP and application workloads.

• Optimize queries, indexing, and ORM usage to sustain performance at scale.

• Manage database migrations, backup and restore procedures, and data integrity checks.

CI/CD & Release Management

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, testing, and deployment.

• Manage source code using Git with effective branching, versioning, and code review workflows.

• Implement deployment strategies that ensure reliable, secure releases with zero or minimal downtime.

• Support release coordination and ensure deployments comply with organizational standards and best practices.

Containerization & Deployment

• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker.

• Deploy and operate applications on container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker Swarm.

• Ensure container security, scalability, and efficient resource utilization across all environments.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

• Automate provisioning, configuration, and routine operational tasks using Bash and Python scripts.

• Maintain consistent, reproducible development, staging, and production environments.

Cloud, Monitoring & Reliability

• Deploy and manage application workloads on AWS or other cloud platforms with high availability and cost efficiency in mind.

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to track application performance, infrastructure health, and service availability.

• Apply security best practices covering access control, vulnerability management, and secure configuration.

• Support Linux/UNIX server administration, patching, backup, and disaster recovery in coordination with the infrastructure team.
