Experience:
BSc in Textile Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Supply Chain from any reputed University.
Professional SCM certification in CSCM / CPIM/CSCP/CIPS is Must.
An MBA in Supply Chain Management (SCM) will an added advantage.
3–5 Years of experience in spinning mill planning & SCM.
Strong knowledge of spinning processes and material flow (cotton/fiber to yarn)
Strong command over planning, forecasting, and inventory control
Practical knowledge of spinning operations and production constraints
Expertise in ERP/MRP, MS Excel (pivot, lookup, dashboards), and MIS reporting
Vendor coordination, negotiation support, and follow-up capability
Analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Job Purpose
To ensure uninterrupted and cost-effective yarn supply for a knit composite operation by managing end-to-end supply chain activities for fiber (in-house spinning) and ready yarn (knitting)—including requirement planning, procurement coordination, delivery follow-up, receiving & quality release, inventory governance, and timely issuance—ensuring OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance and continuous production support.
Responsibilities & Context
A) End-to-End SCM Ownership (Fiber & Ready Yarn)
Manage end-to-end SCM for fiber and ready yarn from demand planning through procurement, delivery, receiving, storage, and issuance.
Maintain pipeline tracker and proactively manage supply risks (delay, shortage, quality hold) with mitigation actions.
B) Production Planning & Knit Supply Alignment
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly yarn production plans based on knitting/garments demand and spinning capacity; review plan vs actual and recovery plans.
Coordinate with Production/Maintenance/QA to ensure plan adherence, minimize downtime, and ensure timely quality release.
C) Fiber Planning & Procurement (Cotton/Fiber)
Forecast fiber requirement by count/blend and manage import/local follow-up with Commercial/Procurement (PI/LC, shipment, ETA, clearance, receiving).
Maintain optimum safety stock and working capital control; ensure availability of critical consumables (as applicable).
D) Ready Yarn Procurement for Knitting
Consolidate knitting demand and execute ready yarn procurement (supplier allocation, delivery schedule, contingency sourcing) to ensure OTIF (On-Time In-Full) supply.
Manage documentation, shortage/claims/returns, and supplier performance tracking (lead time, OTIF, quality).
E) Inventory, Traceability & Warehouse Control
Control inventory for fiber, purchased yarn, WIP/FG and critical spares/packing with accurate ERP posting and stock discipline.
Ensure lot traceability and mixing control; apply FIFO/FEFO where applicable; manage slow/non-moving items.
F) Reporting, Compliance & Improvement
Publish MIS: pipeline status, plan vs actual, stock days cover, supplier OTIF, consumption/waste variance.
Support ISO/ERP/Internal audits and drive improvement on lead time, inventory optimization, and cost reduction.
