Educational Requirements:
∎ Master of Science (MSc) in Textile Technology, Master of Science (MSc) in Textile Engineering, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Technology, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 6 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Fabric Sourcing, Fabric Textile, Textile Industry
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
Garments, Textile
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Set up fabric appointments and meetings.
∎ Research with designer fabrics.
∎ Develop relationships with a variety of fabric vendors.
∎ Make and issue seasonal color cards by delivery.
∎ Ordering and tracking of SRS yardage.
∎ Communicating on an advanced level and coordinating with mills, design and factories on ready dates and shipping information of SRS fabrics.
∎ Oversee color development of solid fabrics, and comment on lab dips for color approval and direction into bulk.
∎ Oversee fabric /textile development of yarn dyed fabrics from development through to production.
∎ Comment on Print strike offs for production (print artwork is sent by the CAD person).
∎ Keep very organized records of fabrics developed, lab dips, SRS references and bulk submits.
∎ Execute seasonal excel fabric development charts for frequent status meetings.
∎ Keep very organized information on fabric details for costing meetings.
∎ Have knowledge of mills within the price range & to research counter sourcing.
∎ Communication with production on fabric information, content, finished, washes, minimums etc.
∎ Keep internal fabric library organized and up to date.
∎ Communicate with design team on quality and color issues during the development and production process.
∎ Issue and communicate bulk reference approvals to both mills and factories that will cut the fabrics.
∎ Organization is very key to this role.
Additional Requirements:
∎ REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
∎ Very detail oriented and ability to drive to completion with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
∎ Clear understanding of general fabric development process
∎ Solid fabric construction knowledge across a specialized area (i.e. woven, knit, yarn, trim) and general fabric construction understanding across woven (denim/non denim)
∎ Clear understanding of dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques
∎ Computer literate in Microsoft office programs and fashion base computer applications.
∎
